Just got an email from Microsoft inviting me to buy the XBox X available in limited quantities on Microsoft Online Store.

You have to bundle a game and a controller and it all came out to $720.
I was able to buy one for the delivery date of 12/22

Sometimes your email client will break up the link and remove some essential parameters. Try from another email reader or from the computer.

Looked in my email and found they sent it on the 19th! Had a friend that's willing to pay retail so ordered it for him. My question is does the game add to my MS account or do they email me the redemption code?

I suspected that too, so did a quick check on email domain, mx records etc. The link was legit and also got a confirmation from Microsoft Store email. Really tough (though not impossible) to spoof microsoft.com domain email.

Sorry, I got the expensive controller, game and a service package - that plus tax got it to ~$720.

I just tried the link again and I can still build a bundle and buy it (although console ship date is now 12/27). The lowest bundle I could build was $565 before taxes ($622.59 after tax).

The deal is still on, if you are ok with getting it post Christmas.

The link is specific to a user with their email address embedded in it (and I am sure the other codes in it is also linked to it). So, unfortunately, there isn't a generic link that can be shared publicly. Perhaps to prevent bots from getting into it.

I signed up ~6 months ago (went it and checked my settings, they were all the same as in the article)...no email, zip, zero. I've been trying for a year to get one.
