Yes, but the 70D is a crop sensor so it'll be the equivalent of 45mm.

Yes. Great lens and a great deal, but unless you're planning to upgrade to a full-frame at some point, it's wasted on a 70D. It's an unnecessarily big and heavy lens for crop. Better off getting the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM ART Lens. Much smaller and lighter. It's not on sale at Adorama (they have it for $500 and it's totally worth that), but you can get a mint version on eBay for $250-$300 anytime.

Why is the 28mm more than twice the price of the 30mm?

EDIT: nvm. DC vs DG

DC lenses are designed for cameras with an APS-C size sensor and won't cover the entire image area of a 24x36mm (Full Frame) sensor. DG lenses are designed for cameras with a 24x36mm (Full Frame) sensor but will work equally as well on a camera with an APS-C sensor.

Waiting for Sigma to release their 70-200mm 2.8 ART or deal 85mm 1.4. Already have the 24-70mm.

It depends on your needs and use. The 40mm is in a league of its own. I use for Portraits in Studio and locations. I bought it because some Studios are too small for a 50mm to be useful. As good as the Sigma 50 is it pales in comparison. The Sigma 40 runs neck and neck with my Zeiss Milvus. Another advantage the 40 is basically a video lens so the colors are very good. For this price it's one of the biggest bargains right now. This is about the same price as a Nikon Z 50mm 1.8. Remember your vision sees about 43mm so 40 us closer to what you see then a 50 is.

It depends on what's already in your camera bag and what you plan on shooting.

40mm is a great all around focal length for both photo and video. It's narrow enough to use for portraits without much distortion, and still wide enough for a lot of environmental scenes.

28mm is also great, but not as versatile in my opinion. It's capable of capturing a lot of information in a single frame, but will require you to get up close if you want to focus on a single element.

Most phone cameras have a lens close to a 28mm focal length. That's an easy way to decide if it's a good fit.
