No it wasn't. It's been 15% off for a couple weeks and now it's 20%. I've been waiting for it drop to $100. Might have to bite now.

There wasn't a chip shortage or supply shortage last year…you have to include other market variables too, not just "it was lower price x year"… yeah graphics cards were $300 too…

Edit, so that these comments make more sense: Slickdeals merged my 2TB post with this 1TB one (which appears to have been made earlier) and shoved everything into the comments.

New low price, Prime deal for Black Friday (have to be signed in to see discount). This must be in response to Samsung 970 Evo Plus price drop.

Great performance (best Gen 3?) and excellent thermals due to low power usage. No-brainer for laptops.

This one would perform better and apparently, has higher endurance as well. Evo got dumbed down due to chip shortages and it doesn't have Samsung's own phoenix controller any more
