I'd say they are. However, I did pick them all up during an Amazon 3 for 2. So it was like 6 x ~$40 instead of 9 x ~$40.

It's actually a pretty decent price if you are ok with the awful cropping to achieve the 16:9 aspect ratio. I still need to unload my almost brand new set of this since I upgraded to the pretty much perfect steelbooks.

They look like that. You can find them sold at Amazon, Best Buy and probably lots of other places.

Did the steelbooks have the original broadcast japanese audio?

I grew up with the original Funimation dub, but they've since redubbed it and got new voiceactors for some characters. Brian Drummond as Vegeta and Stephanie Nadolny as Gohan were better, but given that we can't actually get that dub, I've since grown fond of the japanese voice cast.

Copied from a review: Funimation has presented three lossless audio options for fans of Dragon Ball Z to choose from on this 30th Anniversary Edition: English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD with original Japanese music, English Dolby TrueHD 2.0 stereo with the U.S. score music, and Japanese mono (with English subtitles). This is certainly a nice mix of lossless audio options for fans. The English dub audio was recorded much later than the original Japanese language dub, so the English audio tracks are much clearer and crisper when compared to the somewhat dated sounding original audio mix. Regardless, fans of the series should be pleased to have options.
