Nice. The extra 20% makes this the cheapest I've had in years! The hunt for 2021 tax software is officially over for me.

Thanks op. Was charged full price but saw at checkout that 5% plus additional 15% cash back would be applied to the prime visa. I wish it was the download version but time to break out the external CD drive!

I don't think it's a CD. I think they mail you a code and you use that to download. Seems stupid, but whatever, the download version doesn't seem to have the 20% off.

State e-file is $20 extra. Too many free places to do taxes. The 3% bonus isn't worth it.

About the same price I paid last year for the Premium & Business, but the 20% cash back makes it much slicker.
Thanks OP. Done with this for this year!

This is what I'm thinking. I did H&R Block the past two years but this year I'm considering Cash App Tax (they bought out Credit Karma Tax). Of course, since the year isn't over there obviously aren't any user reviews yet. But, I'm wondering if there's any reason not to go the free route (if you don't have any complicated tax stuff like rentals, businesses, etc)?

Either that is new or based on your state. Have e-filed in NY for years with no extra charge.

Correct, it's NY law to have free e-file.

That's not very cheapass my dude. Free and direct file is the safest bet and slickest deal.

This. The software will still complete the state copy of it and allow you to print it for "free". Print and mail it for the cost of a stamp. A ridiculous PIA that shouldn't cost anything in IMHO, but it still better than laying $20 to file your state taxes.
