Just a warning last time I bought from Office Depot (shipped to me) they were very old and the battery was dead. And same with everyone else in that thread.

Serial number on the box shows the year and month it was manufactured and it was something like 5+ years ago.
(Trying to remember off the top of my head, I think serial is in the form of #BYYMM### if you're picking up in store)
I think it would be helpful to update the thread title and bullet list with the 360W rating.

Good luck!

many questions I have seen here can be answered by looking at the manufactuers website. here is a link to the manual

* the audible alarm can be set to OFF per the manual
* it does not have a USB port for connecting a PC or NAS
* the battery can NOT be replaced by the end-user
* a runtime graph is also listed on the product page ( about 2-minutes when load is 350 watts )

Thanks.
But I am seeing a link to a replacement battery, does the manual state that you can't actually replace it?

Battery can be replaced, just not through a simple sliding door. Watched a video, and it's essentially having to unscrew 4 screws on the bottom to get to the battery. After that, it looks simpler than some of the user-replaceable ones I've had to do trying to get the cables to squeeze back into the compartment.

Have these at work. Like all APC products, junk. Don't put anything on it if they are critical systems
Wow what a statement. APC products are used in Data Centers and they are not junk for sure.

I second your post. APC is as reliable as they come. I had a few UPSs that worked well for me. Also had them in data centers and they were workhorses that worked beyond their rated life.

Too bad, no USB port to shut down the computer is a deal breaker for me.

You technically can. The 450VA version of this uses a 12v 4Ah lead acid battery similar in size to this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BPC..._lig_dp_it

It just involves a loooong screwdriver to get at the screws. I have an old one I've been meaning to get a new battery for that I recycled the old one

They do not have replaceable batteries, even the earlier ones which came with replaceable batteries
had odd battery sizes. Batteries are difficult to find and expensive.
Anyone know, if I buy 2, with the intention to not use one (to keep as a replacement backup) ...
Will the one that's never used go stale for the battery? Or will it retain its battery lifespan (of 5 years whatever), by not being used (not depleting the charge/recharging)? Ty

makes sense to me, they have a link to purchase the battery for this UPS right on the product page. ( about $44 directly from APC - cheaper on ebay of course )

but, the manual says it is not a user replaceable battery, but thanks for letting me & everyone know you just need a long screwdriver . most likely APC wants people to just buy a new UPS or take the UPS into a service center.

I was wondering about that, but as another poster just said a little bit ago, he has actually replaced these batteries with an extra long screwdriver. but the manual says it does not have a user replaceable battery.

It sounds like APC just wants the users to take the battery in for "repair"/replacement or buy a new UPS.

the battery is $44 directly from APC, but I'm sure it is cheaper on ebay.

Any way to get free shipping?
They have free shipping on $35 [officedepot.com] order so add a cheap item like this $0.69 marker [officedepot.com]. Cart will still show S/H fee, but after going through guest checkout you can change shipping to slower free shipping Smilie

That's good. So it sounds like I can take the 2 UPSes to an Office Max store for a full refund.

It's too bad because I needed some new UPSes for my PCs, but without a USB port for monitoring, they are no good to me.

I actually have more than a dozen old APC and Belkin UPSes all of which still work, but the batteries always go bad. In the past it has been about $30-$35 for a new UPS vs. $20-$30 for some generic battery on eBay which rarely last beyond 1 year, almost like it's by design. I think all these eBay batteries, including ones for old cell phones, have been sitting on shelves for years, and they have no date stamps on them, so they just palm off old degraded never-used-before batteries on unsuspecting customers. For that reason I don't want to buy any more eBay batteries. I'd rather buy a new UPS instead of a "new" replacement battery. Too bad there are no deals on a 650VA BN UPS like past years.

Have you found a reputable place to buy quality replacement batteries at a good price?

Thanks for pointing out that free shipping starts at $35. Too bad the system didn't allow free shipping for 1 cent difference - now they are sending 2 separate shipments for 69 cents more, with the marker being shipped from another state.

Systems only allowing for in-store pickup now on the mobile is there a trick to getting it to ship?

Edit: I added it with something else and it went to the cart fine.
