Wow, what a deal!

I've been hemming and hawing whether to get the Kindle Fire HD 10 Plus, the Lenovo 10e or the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite 4gb version.

The only thing that originally stopped me with the Lenovo 10e was the terribly bad speakers. But at this price point, I'll deal with it. I have plenty of other devices around the house (including other PCs, tablets, phones and bluetooth speakers) if I wish to play something at a loud volume.

Here is my brief analysis should this help anyone in the same boat.

* The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is 8.4" and arguably is easier to handle than the 10" Fire HD 10 and Lenovo 10e. But the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite uses a crappy 1340x800 resolution with poor viewing angles. Buyer beware that the A7 Lite does have a 3GB RAM variant as well.

* Kindle Fire HD 10 Plus (the 4GB RAM variant) was really, really tempting especially considering one can use Fire Toolbox to remove the ads & bloatware, sideload Google Play Store, and sideload a custom launcher.

* BUT Kindle Fire HD 10 Plus uses Android 9 as the underlying OS (already out of date considering Android 12 just came out). Not to mention Amazon is releasing a new (currently optional) OS update to version 7.3.3.2 that prevents Fire Toolbox from being able to do its thing. Not sure how I feel about being forever stuck on a previous version of an already outdated OS.

* I've read that the Lenovo 10e's ChromeOS is a bit hit-or-miss compared to Android (especially with app compatibility) but we shall see. I don't really do much on my current tablets besides catching up on news, perusing Reddit & Slickdeals and occasionally watching a show or TV on it.

As much as a good deal it is, id rather go with the Amazon Fire HD Plus, just based on the added storage option, especially with the firebox tool to 'unlock' it.

couldn't resist any more. i don't know even what i'm going to use it for. just because it's cheap.
Mine is going into the kitchen on a mount I have under our cabinets for Plex. I used to have an iPad there for streaming TV from the Spectrum app, but Spectrum\Apple did the planned obsoleteness thing and the app no longer works\iPad can't\go past ios8 or something. This deal is cheap enough at worst it can hang out in the kitchen. I hope it can do some security cam viewing stuff too like for Wyze cameras or my Blue Iris camera setup as well. There's definitely some utility with a spare tablet .

If the keyboard was included for $99 would have purchased
The keybd is $30 so it's $109 for the combo.

I wonder if Walmart will price match this? I already bought the 119$ sale
Walmart only price adjusts Walmart.com websites (sold by Walmart products only.)

I decided to pass at $99 but at $79 why not - I've been meaning to try out Chrome OS.

Is $29.99 a good price for the 10e keyboard or should I wait?

If you got bluetooth speakers lying around you could connect it to that or maybe even on a google home to enhance the audio

If using this tablet with a keyboard is important, then consider the Asus 11.6" Chromebook for $99 at Best Buy. The keyboard will be noticably larger and more comfortable to type on.

I think I have a USB C hub with power pass thru that might work. My old Acer R11 is near end of life.

hey, changed my mind, Chrome OS can be frustrating and limited. I already have Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 4G/128G tablet with POGO stand and Android 10 Now I wonder if the same stand would work for this for charging on stand. This one seems kind of chunky.
