I've been hemming and hawing whether to get the Kindle Fire HD 10 Plus, the Lenovo 10e or the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite 4gb version.
The only thing that originally stopped me with the Lenovo 10e was the terribly bad speakers. But at this price point, I'll deal with it. I have plenty of other devices around the house (including other PCs, tablets, phones and bluetooth speakers) if I wish to play something at a loud volume.
Here is my brief analysis should this help anyone in the same boat.
* The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is 8.4" and arguably is easier to handle than the 10" Fire HD 10 and Lenovo 10e. But the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite uses a crappy 1340x800 resolution with poor viewing angles. Buyer beware that the A7 Lite does have a 3GB RAM variant as well.
* Kindle Fire HD 10 Plus (the 4GB RAM variant) was really, really tempting especially considering one can use Fire Toolbox to remove the ads & bloatware, sideload Google Play Store, and sideload a custom launcher.
* BUT Kindle Fire HD 10 Plus uses Android 9 as the underlying OS (already out of date considering Android 12 just came out). Not to mention Amazon is releasing a new (currently optional) OS update to version 7.3.3.2 that prevents Fire Toolbox from being able to do its thing. Not sure how I feel about being forever stuck on a previous version of an already outdated OS.
* I've read that the Lenovo 10e's ChromeOS is a bit hit-or-miss compared to Android (especially with app compatibility) but we shall see. I don't really do much on my current tablets besides catching up on news, perusing Reddit & Slickdeals and occasionally watching a show or TV on it.

It is NOT a 4 core, 1MB cpu. It is an 8 core, 4 x a73 core, 4 x a53, cache varying depending on the core.
So your concern is not warranted, its an excellent performing chip equal to a midrange snapdragon, and it'll be a fine performer for many years.
Bought some $90 ebay GC for 63$ using slide app and bought this tablet.

The Toolbox is currently being developed for Linux systems in the Python programming language. If you'd like to see the progress of the port, you can do so at this link.ā
ā
Please be patient with me as the Linux port is being developed in my spare time and may take some time to complete. However, as the port progresses some builds will be released to those who'd like to help test alpha builds. More information on this later down the line. ā
ā
However, at the moment, the best way to run the Toolbox on Linux is to use VMWare and emulate Windows.

Apples to apples.
Got the Fire 10 Prime Day and it is head and shoulders above the prior Fire 10s. The screen on the new Fire 10 is a one layer thing (glued to the digitizer) instead of separated like all prior Fire tab models and it makes a big difference. Does anybody know if this Chromebook Tab has a screen with a gap?
I tried Firebox today on a 2021 HD 10 and it worked.
It takes a half hour for it to do all its things, but now I've got Playstore on a pretty good Android tab.
As for this Chromebook tab, the few reviews say the speakers are bad. They are good on the Fire 10. Also, I can't tell whether you can install APKs on the Chromebook tab, or only use Play Store. You can install APKs on the Fire Tab, like Newpipe.
You should be able to install Linux on this Chromebook tab though, but then don't you need to buy the keyboard for 30 bucks?
