Thanks OP. Just ordered this for my dad. Did some upgrades to the customization to get my money's worth. Didn't upgrade to Ryzen 7 because I think Ryzen 5 is good enough for my dad. He's not a gamer or video movie maker so this Ryzen 5 should last him a while before it gets outdated

Upgraded to 16GB Ram, 256 GB SSD, Backlit Keyboard, Silver, and WIFI 5

Sub-total$469.99
Tax$44.06
Standard 3-7 Business days shippingFree
CA Recycle fee$5.00
TOTAL$519.05

I wish we had HP coupons to apply to the order to make it even better, but couldn't find any other ones to apply.

I pulled the trigger on it because of the touch. It was only $79 dollars more than last months HP 15.6 i3 at Target. I am a little sus of the AMD Ryzen, because I haven't bough an AMD since I built my home PC with the 8350, but the reviews seems solid. Got the backlit keyboard, 256 Gig SSD, and did the Rose Gold and it was 409 all together. You will note that it also includes Windows 11 Home instead of Windows 11 S.
Right now the way to go is with the Ryzen.

If you go with Op configuration or anything less than $500, this is the best deal around.

Anything over than considering getting those gaming laptops. For example: https://www.walmart.com/ip/MSI-GF...gn_id=9383

You may not use it for gaming, but for a little more, it would provide a dedicated graphic card which is better, and most importantly heating unit/ mechanism. Majority of end users doesn't utilize the maximize processing power of their laptop CPU. These lower end laptop is not built for its reliability or durability for professional tech job. So even if you can utilize the more powerful processing power of these Ryzen CPU, the laptop wouldn't last long. There is a reason those the high end laptop with similar raw specs parameter (for example 12GB RAM, 256 SSD...) usually at least double the MSRP of these.

Nice! Snagged one.

I ended up taking the better screen and 16gb of Ram. I kept the smallest HD and picked up a WD Black 500GB SSD from amazon for $49. Save $30 and start out with a clean install of windows without the HP bloat, win - win.

I am not sure whether the levono has backlit keyboard or not.

Anyways, trying to configure this HP to similar specs to the Levono, it's basically same price. I would say HP is better due to the Ryzen CPU.

However, for the budget range laptop, HP build quality had been questionable for the past few years. Levono, I don't hear as much outcry for them.

Then the benefit of going via retailer, Best Buy customer service, over HP customer service. HP customer service has a bad rap about them. BB may not be the pinnacle of good customer service, but since you can stop by different stores, you have better chance to get a better rep, and faster experience if you have issue with the order in the first few weeks.

I got this HP Laptop deal from Target and was going to install 16GB and a 1TB NVMe for a total of $400. Is it worth switching to this deal?

That's it! Took the plunge after reading weeks of negative reviews every laptop in my budget from SD users. My 10 year old Dell inspiron n7010 is finally getting replaced!

Got it with the touchscreen and backlit kb for $401, which I think is a pretty good price. Chassis looks very similar to the target deal for $238. Hoping it has a better trackpad.
