Your link is not working for me and doesn't seem to be legit.

I searched on there site and found it here:

OPs link works fine for me. The one you posted is the Gen1 model that doesn't include the updated PID controller.

Bought this unit last year. Great unit for the price, and several accessories to get as upgrades.

I keep seeing online that this model at Dicks is the DLX frame with SG24 upgrades. Anyone aware of the specifics?

I'd buy this if I didn't own two pellet grills already. Neither of mine have a truly easy ash cleaning system. You have to remove the grates and the heat shield to get at the ash/fire pot. Not cool. The Camp Chef lets you access the ash/fire pot from below the grill. The Camp Chef has other nice features but that's the one I wish my grills had.

No comparison between this and the recteq but you're also looking at different price points. Recteq also has phenomenal customer support.

This seems to be a decent model if its your budget. I'd personally try to save up for recteq.

I'm a bit biased being a Recteq owner. The Hey Grill Hey YouTube channel speaks highly of Camp Chef smokers.

This is the best brand to buy below $800 IMO. You really get a ton for your money. RecTec, Grilla and Yoder are the ones you want at a high price point ($800+).

Compared to the better brands, the PID controller probably isn't quite as good and the walls/construction is a bit thinner/cheaper, and you miss out on features like cabinets, front shelving, wifi, etc. But you more than get what you pay for with the Camp Chef. Great accessories available, huge hopper, good performance, PID. And the ash cleanout system is honestly great, not even the expensive grills have it.

If you want to make a complete left turn, take a look at charcoal gravity smokers made by Masterbilt. Those seem pretty great; it's an actual charcoal smoker that works similar to a pellet grill.

In this price point, I don't think you'll find better value to be honest.

I own an older camp chef pellet smoker, been going several years now and probably 1k+ lbs of meat smoked. They're workhorses, especially for the money.

Agree that you get what you pay for and if you'd like to splurge, definitely go for a recteq.

Not sure I would put Grilla and RecTec in the same category as Yoder. If you're in the $2000 range, look at Yoder (unless leaving outside, due to rusting), Blaz'n, or MAK.

My impression from talking to people into pellet grills is either splurge for fully American Made (which RecTec is not) or go with a good value Chonese made like Green Mountain or even cheaper with Camp Chef or Z Grills. (I splurged for a pricey one.)

For the money, this is a solid choice for someone who doesn't want to spend 4x as much for American made.

Had this grill for a couple years now. Never going back to gas ever. Paid a similar price back then. Now it comes with the new PID controller for the same cost it's a no brainier. It's a $200 upgrade if I add it to mine.

Spend $200 more and get the sear box. Great addition! Smoking a boneless ribeye than searing it will leave you with no regrets.
