below is what I pasted into chat box to get things rolling:
"Starbucks Black Friday Offer: $20 Starbucks eGift Card + $5 Bonus Value $20
I purchased $20.00 gift card that was offering $5.00 extra. I received the $20 and not the $5. According to Starbucks website the offer was LIVE at the time of purchase."
So I got a $20 card with $5 bonus for $17. The order didn't go through, I clicked again and ended up paying twice ($20 for the second $20 card, no bonus). I decided to keep it and not go through the hassle of a return- whatever. Moved the $45 in gift cards to my Starbucks app.
Today Starbucks issued a $20 refund. I did not refute the charge or ask for this at all!

Today I've contacted chat support one last time, with the linked story I found from another poster (https://www.inc.com/jason-aten/st...r-do.html) and expressed my frustration. After listening to me rant, they gave me the strangest response yet: they told me to contact Chase and gave me this phone number 877-242-7372. When I asked "are you suggesting I contact my bank, in order to file a dispute over this issue?" they responded "no, Chase is the bank involved and they will be the only ones who can help you with this." I called the phone number, and it's the generic phone support line for debit cards. They are running us consumers in circles here and losing customers. This is infuriating, from a company that typically has great customer support!
