Wow! So many negative comments! I've got their 10$ lifetime subscription 2 years ago and it's working fine for me. I only use it for torrenting and occasionally for streaming services and I never faced any of the issues mentioned. Also, I never connect to the VPN when using transactions including money and always set the protocol to UDP while connecting. This might be worth a try if anyone is facing connection issues.

How can a onetime 'lifetime' purchase support a company long term? I'm not sure if I could trust a company with this model, rather than a low monthly fee. (which would, presumably, support the company long term)

Anyone here use this for redeeming xbox codes ?
I use VPN Unlimited for Xbox codes. Got a lifetime subscription for it for about same price about 5 years ago on stack social website. I just want to be clear, I use it for redeeming xbox codes, usually in turkey since it seems to usually be over half the price there. So it has more than paid for itself. My wife uses it when she travels back home to Russia to be able to watch streaming services. So if your just going to use for redeeming Xbox codes, it will pay for itself the first time you redeem one year of Xbox live.

VPNs capitalize on fear. If you really think your activity becomes private when you use a VPN or that there's no way big brother can go back and trace things to you, I'd like to sell you some Ivermectin. From a technical standpoint it is just not even possible to obtain the level of protection they are marketing to you. Doesn't matter what their whitepaper says.

I've used FastestVPN since September 2020. I do not use their app and prefer to log in via OpenVPN. My impression has been their service continues to improve. The only issue I've had is a server being down occasionally. It has always been resolved in a few hours once reported via their chat support. When one is down, a secondary server works fine.

I signed up for their Pro level of service. The servers are faster and there are more of them. BUT, their Pro level only works with their app. They do not offer Pro level OVPN files for OpenVPN access at this time, something that their website does not disclose prior to you signing up. I'm not a fan of their app, so I cancelled the Pro service without any issues. A simple chat session was all it took to cancel. They said they would notify me when Pro OVPN files are available. I have no complaints. Getting their lifetime service for $17 was money well spent, IMO.

I have, and have had, other VPN services. FastestVPN is my preferred VPN due to it being headquartered in the Cayman Islands.

I've been connected to one of their servers now for 3 weeks without any disconnects or noticeable hiccups. The server I am using is 2,000+ miles away and I am connected via command line in Linux. It's been very reliable for my uses and has been money well spent.

For those having problems with their IP getting leaked if the connection drops when they are using torrents or P2P, you must configure your torrent client to be bound to only the VPN interface and not simply allow it to connect out on whatever interface it wants.

I've actually been using this VPN with no problems or DMCAs for 3ish years. I live in the US, use the Denver, Dallas and Washington server often, average between 100-150mbps. NOT MBs, mbps. The new app just added split tunneling but the app doesn't work the best and it only allows you to enable websites or IPs, not split tunnel applications. FastestVPN blocks RARBG RSS for Jackett so I've been looking for an alternative. Bought PIA, got 4 years for $79, it's slow as hell. The app works great, split tunneling works great, less disconnects, polished, but slow as fark and no lifetime deals which I prefer.

It's definitely worth $16 for a lifetime sub if you need a basic VPN. I don't think it's going anywhere, it's just not hassle free. On the plus side they're actively upgrading the app and their live chat and email support is very responsive. Source: just some dude that downloads stuff

To each their own, and glad the service has work d well for you.

Others have already mentioned the risks with such a low cost provider. For me personally, the fact that they aren't even detail oriented enough to deactivate a 2020 discount code doesn't reassure me as far as their infosec practices.
You gotta listen to this Weird Al Song (King of Suede), which explains why the 2020 discount might not necessarily have anything to do with their infosec practices LMAO. Listen till the end.

I'm surprised they are so conservative with the suggested value. Personally, I would assess the value at $6,000,000 (at least) since we will soon achieve singularity and this unfamiliar company will certainly be around forever

I purchased it last year and then never used it. Day and night difference from Windscribe. FastestVPN is extremely slow (surprised?). Biggest issue is that server location is spoofed - they are all located in California (revealed by IP route hops, or https://whatismyipaddress.com/). It is completely useless for switching locations.

The killswitch at times does not work and when vpn disconnects which it does with them often you could be using real ip. Also i had a few times say i am connected to vpn but ip check shows real isp. They also lock your account sometimes and have to contact support for unblock. The vpn locations most times says at location in app but really its across the world. Winix rules but i missed the lifetime... Good luck get what you pay for.
