You can use the price chart to see available dates. Looks like 1/6-1/11 is $103.30 one way, actually most of January and many others days. $99 are during 2/9-2/10. 2/14-2/16, 3/4-3/5.

PSA: Watch out for super crazy high rates on rental cars everywhere. Like 2x or 4x of normal rates.

This needs to be wayyyy clearer. I check all of the surrounding NYC airports and nothing was less than $600...

Just saw fares from Orlando for $414 rt. I don't expect $79 fares to Hawaii. I also don't expect $207 each way either to fly for 10 hours....that's like flying for $20/hour. My Uber costs more than that. 🤣

It clearly spells out which fares are refundable. Anything in main cabin basic is non refundable non changeable.

Car Rentals have been high for some times. Rental companies sold their extras when coved got back and have low inventory
Yes. Spent 5 weeks in Hawaii in summer. Rented from a local. Paid $100/ night for a 91 Corolla but it ran and it was clean. Kauai is so awesome

Pro move is to book car rental first - if you can find a good rate.

Make sure to use your best credit card that may have a high car rental status. That will allow you to book ahead. Good luck.
I was on Maui in September. Enterprise was sold out in July from the airport and my hotel. In early August, for about a week, that changed and I could book. Most cars were $120/day...SUVs were crazy high. I went to my corporate rate and booked a car for a few days at $39.95...then booked an SUV at $47 for 4 days from my hotel.

We didn't use it everyday, but I changed my mind when we got there. I asked the Enterprise desk what availability they had to change my reservation for a week solid on the SUV. I was able to get a Pathfinder for less than $400 after getting the weekly rate on my discount. The guy said they had 80 cars.

I drove to the airport and there were parking lots of them behind a locked gate. I'm thinking they are making so much money off the supply/demand that they're falsely inflating prices. It's all a matter of enough tourists to show up to make the companies flinch and start lowering prices when new ones start to compete.

We went to Maui in June. Some family members wanted to go early next year, so we check the same condo and the price has doubled. That's in less than 6 months. Plus all the car rental issues already mentioned.

It's really hard to go to Hawai'i on a budget currently.

Also Airbnb cleaning fees, host fees, and service fees can add $100 or more per night depending on length of stay

Right, and for the most part, they are total junk fees. Just another way to get more money out of their guests.
