7 & 10 port models both include power adapters.
But usually can get a 13 port for that price

You can get these from AZ Warehouse still in package for $6-8 basically anytime. I've had new ones several times for $9 and change.

The only on/off I use it for is webcams. It's just extra insurance that they are offline. That said I bought this thing for less than $6 just over 3 years ago. I know it's supply and demand, but that's just sad.

This is useful for large hdd's anything that's 4+ terabyte that requires its own power source. If you have it constantly connected to a USB port it will keep on spinning even when not in use, degrades the hdd's lifespan. give it 1-2 years of constant connection and you will hear is struggle to survive and have corrupted write/ reads. The on/off on this switch helps prevent the drive from spinning when not in use (read/write) even ifs plugged in.because the drive will only power back on when it's connected to the usb port on a laptop/pc.

This isn't true. Drives will spin down after a certain period when not in use. Even on a powered hub.

Partly true, if you have a 4tb+ hub or external drive what else would you be using it for? For most people it would be for games or productivity related, now if you have different clients running on your pc, whether it be programs, games, etc, or you are accessing files, it becomes unmanageable to the point that the drive will keep on spinning and you can't eject it without trying to find out what is using it and whats running on the task manager, or you just risk it and just yank the usb off and hope nothing gets corrupted.

for my knowledge, what's the advantage for powered through an adapter? can be used for charging devices?

Some devices require power which may not be available if the hub is not powered and the host has insufficient power to spare. Personally I will only buy powered hubs.

With that logic my internal hdd that has "constant connection" was suppose to have corrupt files ages ago.
