This product is so long in the tooth, it is one of the last to be replaced or updated by Anker. I have been using this for 3-4+ years. I got it when the m1 air came out. That gives you an indication of how long it has been around.
It still works btw since the first day i got it. Can mostly charge my m2 Air or pro max phone twice.
Only issue is it freaks out between dual usb-c charges like my air and my phone, so i daisy chain my phone to my air. no issue.
Are you talking about the one described below that is a green cube? I'm pretty sure the main draw to this one in this post is the small compact size and the fact it has dual purpose (charging block and portable powerbank), not the amount of mAh you can get per dollar.
Anker Power Bank, 60,000mAh Portable Charger 60W with Smart Digital Display
Item #: A1294061
- Massive Power for All: Get the ultimate emergency power source for all your devices with a massive capacity of 60,000mAh. Charge an iPhone 14 over 10 times, a MacBook Air up to 2.9 times, or power a 3W LED lamp for 42.3 hours.
- Simultaneous Charging: Features 60W and 27W USB-C ports, allowing you to charge your phone and laptop simultaneously—ideal for quick power on the go.
- Stay Safe and Secure: The retractable light and an SOS button provide emergency lighting for safety during power outages or other emergency situations.
- Power Up Sustainably: Recharge the power bank seamlessly via solar panels, providing sustainable charging for your devices on the go.
- What You Get: Anker 548 Power Bank (PowerCore Reserve 192Wh), 1.9 ft (60 cm) USB-C to USB-C cable, welcome guide, worry-free 3-year warranty, and our friendly customer service. (Note: Wall charger and XT-60 cable not included)
The one described above it pretty neat though. Probably good for camping if you do devices when camping and need a large powerbank.

Seems like an ok deal to be able to travel with less items (power bank, MacBook Air charger, etc.).
My issues is if I wanted to fast charge the 13" MacBook Air M3 I would need 67W per Apple. Doe this mean it won't charge any faster than the included 35W block because it doesn't meet the 67W threshold for 'fast charging'? Or does it still charge faster than the 35W just won't do the advertised fast charging of 50% in 30 minutes?

Horrible deal. You can get the 60000mah version for $87 from Costco next.

By the way, the gold version (looks to be the same exact item, just different color is $62.99).
Anker's website shows the $67.99 price for the gray and gold one as well after it auto applies a coupon. Don't think Anker's site charges tax so might be a better option for some. Some of the recent reviews on Anker's site states they shipped a used/returned item instead of new though, not sure how often that happens if it's true.

Looks like they do charge tax…but they're throwing in a 10 ft 100W USB-C to USB-C cable if you purchase the gray one (not sure if it works with the gold one).
You can also get a little better discount than their current $12 off showing on their website if you're military, government employee, etc.

Where are you seeing that they throw in the 10ft 100W USB-C to USB-C cable? There's no mention of it on the Anker website:

EDIT:
Looks like the cord only popped into my cart when I put in my GovX coupon code.

I got thus for my mother last Xmas, and it turned out to be heavier than she wants for her purse, but otherwise a pretty good product. I was thinking it was strange that they hadn't updated it yet.

I think the free items are part of the Earth Day promo they're running. The cord is free with a $70 purchase and then other more expensive free items as you meet higher thresholds.
The trick to get the cord in the cart is to not have any coupons in the cart when adding this item (that will bring it down to under $70). You will need to add the coupon after this item is added to the cart at regular price, t he free items are automatically added to your cart.
Their site was automatically adding their advertised coupon code so it wasn't adding the free item for me, but once I removed the coupon it added it in. Then I added the coupon back and the free item stayed. It probably looked like it was your GovX code that made this happen because you had to remove the other coupon to add you GovX coupon.
I have this one, think this is more or less the regular price for the unit.
My (anker support called it design feature after month of emailing with support and pushing replacement once I send my unit) pain with it you can not charge it from USB and use the remaining ports at the same time.
Also, it starts charging the internal battery only when any of your devices almost finish charging e.g. 85% so it draws just a few watts even if you charge just one phone that does not consume more than 30W during the process.
I travel a ton for work, I'm in the UK right now, and I love this. Ive had it for about 6 months and as others have said, it's great because its just one thing to bring. I lose power banks all the time but because this is my regular charger, and it charges itself whenver plugged in, it never really has to leave my bag unless its with my laptop.
I recommend it. I use it for my macbook pro, charges pretty fast and then with my pixel 7 which is fast charges.

These put out 65W on one port which should essentially max out the charging rate on a MBA. It'll charge much faster with this (65W) adapter/bank than it would a 35W adapter.
All these newer USB-C Macbooks work off of power delivery which means they'll charge based on what the charger is capable of. I've charged my 14" MBP off anything from a 5W USB-A charger (which basically just maintains the battery when idling the machine), all the way up to various 60-100W+ adapters. It won't always pull the charger's max rate, it's adaptive (as the battery gets above 60% it'll start decreasing the charging rate).
I'd probably avoid a combo unit like this and just stick with a nice compact ~60W GaN charger with 2x USB-C and a separate power bank for when battery is actually needed - but that's just me. These bigger units often don't like to stay plugged in.

Thanks for the info. I ended up ordering it so we'll see how it behaves. My main concern was to have something that I can travel with to lighten the load of chargers and power banks. At home I will probably still be using the 35W Apple charger that came with the MBA. I'm not a heavy user of my laptop so I don't think I'll be charging too much while the battery still fresh and can last a while.
