I'd you're not doing exciting stuff, then no you probably don't need this over your phone camera.

I am planning to travel more starting next month. Nothing extreme. I do have VR.
What accessories do I get? What would I probably not need? I know this is an open-ended question. I've thought about some vlogging, maybe even something less conventional in 360 degrees.
Insta360 official store is tax free and has free shipping over $129, and if you could find a partner link you can also get a free snow bundle and free 120cm Invisible Self Stick. Also purchased battery package as they die out pretty fast in any Colorado ski resort. My total - cam, self stick, 2 spare batteries and a fast charging hub, a lens cap and a snow bundle - comes to $490. Cons are they are shipping from China and it's gonna take a while to arrive.
Adorama is not tax-free for my state, camera + 2 batteries + fast charing hub + lens cap = $480 + tax ~ $510, and that's without a self stick and snow bundle. Pros for Adorama is that they ship from US and should be faster if you are on a trip soon.

You don't have to make sure it's pointed at what you want to capture. It captures everything. You can go into the app and edit to get what you want to show off. You can export one view, then go in and change to another and export that. It's quite fun.
The image stabilization is great. There are addins for Premier Pro. I'm
Two things, though. Get the stick on lens guards or the expensive premium guards. The lenses do scratch and they are not user replaceable.
And, if you're going to be using it in the water, make sure the battery and usb doors are completely closed. If you can see any orange on the latch, it will let water in. They do make a dive housing also.
I'm not upset that I paid full price for mine.
I'd say a scratched lens prevents the product from 'working as intended' since it degrades the image, but without evidence I'm in no hurry to trust any insurance company in interpretations like that.
No problems at all with state farm personal articles policy, including getting paid out on claims. I've had cameras fall to the ground and they paid out full value for the camera, Lens and accessories. I had a $500 flash stolen and they paid that out also.
Highly recommend them, at least with tech stuff that can be easily damaged, destroyed, stolen (and I don't know if they cover "lost")

Some of the best pictures I've eve taken (not quality, but visually) were with the 360. I'm jumping on this deal. Miss those shots and printing them out were fantastic for tiny plant effects. The 7 Pro takes good pictures but definitely not the wow effect. Combined with 360 support on google photos, it's great.

I have shot a ton of ski video on mine over the past few years. Here is an example...watch till the very end to get a unique view of a wipeout! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4tdjFE
