Yes, I did that with one of the smaller bits though a couple of old 2.5" hdds before turning them in for the BB recycle coupon. Went through very easy all the way through the platter to the other side.

I've also used a larger bit to drill holes through metal bars to make custom brackets for my oil catch can.

I was surprised how easy they went through metal.

They're decent but don't buy for the Dewalt name. The last decade or so their consumer side products have been same quality as everybody else (read: trash).

Do you know the difference of Black & Gold compare to the Black Oxide (tested by PF) ? Thank you very much.

I believe it goes Black & Gold < titanium < black oxide < cobalt.

I have to take off a sink widespread faucet. But the tiny screw that keeps the handle lever in place is stuck-badly rusted. I have completely worn the head out using screw remover techniques. Would this drill through it. I do not care about putting the screw back in. I just need to replace cartridge because it is leaking. Any help appreciated.

you are better off getting cobalt ones. they have cheap ones on amazon. no sense spending money on this to find out it wont go through most metals.

Cheaper for many at Lowes after cashback, veteran discount (10%) and gc discounts (10-15%+)...
nope, not exactly. there are currently amex/discover/chase promotions that are discounting items sold by amazon by 30%-50%. i paid less than $8 for this and i didn't have to set foot in a lowes or burn the gas to do it. that alone is worth the $8. also didn't have to juggle discounted GCs, which is always a plus.
