I've read that Skilsaw = good, pro-grade, while Skil = bad DIY grade. Can anyone speak to this?

Just an FYI for anyone considering the saw, this saw has been the subject of previous deal posts (at a higher price). Do a quick search and you will find lengthy conversations which include positive comparisons to other saws and discussions of how Skil has significantly improved their quality in recent product offerings (like this one).

Most people just make a custom plate for their dado stack. SKIL wouldn't be able to make one that matches everyone's different dado stack brands or configs.

I've been waiting for a deal on this table saw and here it is. All time lowest price according to CCC. This is $50 off regular price and $100 off the COVID inflated price it's typically sold for. This is generally considered to be the best table saw in the price range. Can use dado stacks and has built in legs unlike the 8 1/2 inch Dewalt table saw that's presently on sale and is it's only real competition at this price point.

I picked up the 10" Dewalt table when it was on sale, but I also have a Skil 10" miter, it's nice. Also, I've found the biggest thing to look for in the DIY range is a nice fence. I really wanted the rack and pinion fence....and I love it! I fought with an old saw with a spring-loaded fence and this made using the table saw enjoyable again. I say anyone go for it! 10" is the way to go over 8 1/4, just slap on a nice 40 tooth Diablo blade (get the two pack) and you'll be set. Will it be perfect? No! But it you are a cabinet maker you are not looking in this price range. (Also, I haven't seen the comment yet but I don't think they want a panel saw!)

Skil got new owners and has been moving their product line up and refreshing and enhancing everything. This table sale is considered one of the best in its price range for the features you get. Their cordless stuff got a boost as well and reminds me of the old Porter Cable stuff from back in the day.

Skil was bought by EGO a little while agree and have been redoing all of their product lines. This is their first table saw under new ownership and it has been getting rave reviews. I picked it up for $299 at Menards shortly after it released like two October's ago and highly recommend it. Heard about it on VGC's YT.
