Lowe's has the Metabo 21 Degree Framing Nailer kit for $399 with a free Brad Nailer kit. The Brad kit is $349. This isn't hackable but from what I've seen these are great tools. I've always had great experiences with Metabo tools in general.

I'm surprise I haven't seen that posted yet.

Also, this is my first post so cut me some slack.

Great deal. I was able to get the 21 degree framing nailer and 15 ga. finish nailer for around $120 each last year when they had clearanced some of these tools.

Both work great and are really handy. I used the framing nailer to put on some new roof sheathing on my house recently. Bump fire is pretty quick. Not quite as fast as a pneumatic but fast enough. Really nice not having to drag out the compressor, particularly indoors with the finish nailer.

I ended up selling most of my 20v DeWalt tools and moved over to metabo. Seem to find better deals on metabo tools at Lowes than DeWalt. I have some of the metabo 36v stuff now too and really like it. 36v batteries work on 18v tools as well.

Just bought the new Ridgid 21-degree framing 18V nailer for $300 (it's awesome), otherwise I probably would have tried this.

Why choose this over the 30 degree angled one? Why one over the other

I believe the 30 degree takes clipped head nails. Clipped nails can go against some local building codes and may not offer maximum strength

Better than Paslode?

Depends on which model, but probably not. Paslode specialty is nailers. But Metabo makes the best nailers overall out of all the major big box store brands

Metabo recently released a couple new 36v nailers. I've heard alot of good things about them. Very expensive though

21 degree- Accepts 21 degree round head plastic strip collated nails from 2 Inch up to 3-1/2 inch in length (0.113 to 0.131).

30 degree- Accepts 30 degree clipped or offset round head paper strip collated nails from 2-In to 3.5-In length (0.113 to 0.131).

Either one will meet most codes with the round head, or the offset round head nails. Many prefer the paper strips for clean up, as you may or may not need to collect the used plastic strips. Some guns will shoot either, but you will have to ask or try.

I wished the 30-degree had the bonus 18 ga, but I could get over it for this deal.

I had finally decided to go with Dewalt 20v framing nailer, but now I'm second guessing, and may go in with the Metabo system.
.
You might be happier with the compressor on this Metabo/Hitachi over the flywheel on the DeWalt... and maybe not. The Metabo shoots a little faster and recoils like an air, while the DeWalt recoil is less and weighs less. The DeWalt will shoot the heavier .0148 nails (round head), but only up to 3 1/4" (Metabo up to 3-1/2"). The DeWalt has dry fire lockout, but not certain about Metabo.

Neither hold enough nails compared to air when say, nailing sheeting.

Anyone knows if its ok to use 21 deg nails that are of ANY DIAMETER AND LENGTH FROM 2" to 3 1/2" ?

Manual seems to state only use:
2" w/ 0.113" diameter w/ 0.286" head and
3 1/2" w/0.131 diameter w/ 0.3" head

If you can find them, it will shoot either, but I think the 0.131 start at 2 1/2" for Metabo and several others. .... As far as length, you will adjust with the nose gauge and air pressure if required. The range is stated from shortest to longest.
