It looks like other capacities on sale too, but only 250GB and 1TB still in stock. I got 1tb fine.

Shouldn't you know this, if you're bringing up claims about an old problem?

Crucial brand is quality I can speak from experience this brand is pure 100% quality. You might find some cheap Chinese junk somewhere else but if I were you I would order this one.

There was some discussion on Reddit about idle issues a year or so ago in always on environments (data centers).

The warranty is good and I'm guessing they've updated the firmware since. Regardless, that was a specific corner case situation from my recollection.

If this is the price, size, and form factor needed, I wouldn't hesitate buying the mx500 line of SSDs.

I won't touch ecrater with a 10-foot pole.

I just bought the 2TB on Amazon for $167+tax last night. It was on sale for 160 earlier in the day. This is an amazing price for the 1TB! This MX is older 2016 i think🤔 & has a smaller cache or buffer (I get mixed up, one of those lol) but majority of the communities I read into has put forth this model as 1 of the best bang for buck & performance TLCs out there! I originally went for a 2TB 860EVO 2 years back over the MX but now the MXs price & performance appears unmatchable compared to its main competition!
