Amazon reviews make the quality questionable… probably best to pass on this

Just get a thermopop or other reliable thermometer. I've had my maverick pt100 for years. There's very good ones starting at maybe $30

100% don't recommend this. Had one years ago and it took a long time (5-10 seconds) to get the accurate reading. Very big and bulky as well. The biggest draw back of it is that the rubber on the handle will break down after a few years and turn sticky and almost melty in your hand. Get something else like a thermo pop or javelin (pro) and you will be much happier.

[Thumbs down due to first hand experience with poor product quality]

We had one of these. It didnt last a year until the screen died. Unless they've improved the quality of this in the last couple of years, do not buy this POS.

I've been using an older version of this for many years. It's not my go to thermometer, but is more of a backup. Yes it takes 5-10 seconds for a reading, but it's relatively accurate. My biggest gripe is the large wounds it leaves in meat with its big prongs.

2 prongs means more juice leaking out of your meat. Plenty of other better thermometers out there
