I have this variant and have about 15 games loaded. Still have half the memory left
Not true, most games are like 1 GB each, with exceptions like Walking Dead that is like 8GB? Plenty of space for a casual gamer for just games.
I'd say Amazon one with $50 gift card is better than this. You'd get double the storage and also new.

What's the risk? if you get it and its banged up, or greasy, etc, you can always return it.

Sure there is some risk if it fails after a year but 1yr should be enough to get you past infant mortality failures (in theory).

As for 64GB, that depends on the person.
I see references to a 128GB $250 offer but it sounds like that offer is expired

I have a 64gb Quest 2, and I completely disagree. I have over a dozen games installed on the headset at this point and still have space. The majority of games for the Quest aren't very big.
Yet it only takes one large game to take up all your storage. Considering for only $50 more you get new AND twice the storage, this is a total rip.

64GB is very little. So much so Oculus has discontinued that variant and bumped the base model to 128gb for the same price (MSRP $299). That being said, Quest 2 is the best standalone VR headset and works very well for the price. If you're not planning to have more than 1-2 games on it at a time you can easily make do with 64 gigs.
I have the 64gb and have over 25 games on there and still have 5gbs left there are only 2 games that use 8gb of space the rest are between 2gb and 400mb

I think that's generally true, but here's from a review of Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond:

"Be warned for the 64GB Quest 2 owners: you need to delete all your apps as you'll need ~43GB of space for this. It does work though, I'm playing it on the 64GB model."

To have two of these playing in the same house, do you need two separate Facebook accounts if you want to play with/against each other?

I agree. People have oily faces, and a used VR unit? Yuck. Especially in a post-COVID world....
The refurbished models are almost like new, don't worry about it

This is sold by Walmart, but it doesn't say who refurbished it and the description makes no mention of it. It also seems to indicate standard warranty on the description which is unusual for a refurb. I wonder if this is old stock for the 64gb model they are selling and can't sell it as new.
I think it's old stock as well. The fact that they have the 1-year warranty makes me think it's refurbed from Oculus, or its leftover/new 64gb units that they can't sell (128gb their base model now)

As an owner of the 64gb release, I have 10 games, 4 video/short movies, and a couple misc stuff, and it still has 36 GB free. I dont have any of the crazy graphical games, but its got the space for it. The 128gb deal is also good, but if you want best bang for buck, this is a great price.

64 isn't bad, I still like new with$50 gift card and 128gb for 100 more, but if its the difference between not getting it or get it, then do it. I've only had mine for a few days and it is well beyond worth it, I can go on for hours but best to just experience a true leap forward in tech. 64gb seems fine for most, maybe a bit tight after a while and occasionally you do some cleaning but most apps are less than a few gigs, I think 128 is a sweet spot, but an amazing deal if this puts it in your budget.
Plus with the new ones you qualify for the $30 game credit with referral codes from another quest owner until the new year. The refurbs prolly don't?

If you regularly make purchases on Amazon, you'll just use the $50 bonus cash on future purchases you would have made anyways. Whether you can use it on the headset or not doesn't really matter.
Or are you just spending more money, because you have to burn the gift card?

If it is an oculus refurb, I don't see why it wouldn't. Remember, I think these were clearance for $249 when new.

Nice, this is exactly what I needed. Paired with 9%cb on chase card makes this basically taxfree
