It's not UL Listed, meaning they can claim whatever they want.

Compare to Tripp Lite for example, which will state:

The one I linked in my post above (Tripp Lite TLP1208TELTV), has a clamping voltage of 150v RMS and 330 L-G, 400 L-N, 400 N-G; this comment which aptly explains why Clamping Voltage is essentially the most important consideration in surge protection:
They are the same, but I'd buy the APC because they provide connected equipment protection. I have the Amazon Basics version and it's been great, but I'd prefer the APC any day mainly because of that.

By the way, I don't get the hate for the green light. It's sitting in a media room and the light looks pretty cool, but I can see it being a problem in a bedroom. I think people exaggerate the brightness and seriously, you have to have greasy fingers or some problem to have trouble putting duct tape on the edge to block the light. I seriously don't get how people are having trouble hiding the light with tape either.

This is a really good deal considering APC is a reputable brand and what makes this better than the typical grey Belkin that pops up all the time for $20 is that this has a lower clamping voltage, which is just as important if not more important than the Joules energy rating that manufacturers always brag about openly. They don't advertise their clamping voltage because they often skimp on that.
This is a thread for 8 or 12 outlets, Leviton does not have a model to compete for that, does it?

People should post actual suggestions, for example this one is $19.99 with extra $5 off Prime Member discount today, with 350 V Clamping Voltage, it beats APC for example:

The APC model looked really good but a review of APC has useful info:

"Electrically, I consider the APC P8U2 Surge Arrest to be just an okay surge protector. It has a surge response time of less than 1 nanosecond, which is good. It has a surge energy rating of 2630 Joules, which is good. But for clamping voltage, it has a line to neutral (L-N) rating of 400V, line to ground (L-G) rating of 500V and neutral to ground (N-G) rating of 500V. Those values are too high. Better surge protectors have lower L-N, L-G and N-G voltage ratings. The L-N 400V rating alone means that the surge protector won't kick in until a surge of 280VAC. You want your surge protector to kick in at a much lower voltage than 280VAC, which is over twice the nominal 120VAC. Ideally, look for surge protectors with an L-N rating of 300V or lower. Even though the clamping voltage values are key, they are not always listed in the specifications online. I looked at many models on the APC website and could not find any with clamping voltage values listed. They are, however, generally listed on the back of the physical surge protector - not much help if you're shopping online."

This is the second surge protector I bought and it makes a faint very annoying high pitch noise that's definitely noticable. It can get very irritating quickly. The first surge protector I bought was the GE 12-Outlet Surge Protector that had a similar issue. I will now try Tripp Lite Surge Protector hoping it will be the right choice.

No safety certification (no, UL on the plug doesn't mean the surge protector itself is certified). Hope your home doesn't burn down.

Depends, what are you hooking up to it? Is it expensive stuff, or cheap stuff?

The Amazon Basics 12 outlet [amazon.com] looks like a relabel of the APC in the OP. It's $5 less, has no USB ports, but has a 2 foot longer cord
That looks more like Monoprice. It even has the same janky green outline:

If you want a slim unit, I'd consider this one, same price, and superior performance. Somebody correct me, if I'm wrong:

I'm not sure what I need twelve devices plugged into one outlet/circuit for. And my home office is a mess of gear.
