Seriously, what did you expect, it was a one day sale and it sold out. It happens. I have missed out on countless deals here by being late to the game. Not a big deal. Get over yourselves and move onto the next deal instead of acting immature by complaining or being butt hurt because they won't bend over backwards for you.
Which is the best of the free phones?
Not only will they be locked to T-Mobile, but don't be surprised by the fact that budget phones like these slice and dice which bands they support based upon the operator which sold them. In other words, this is not the same phone as similarly named model from Verizon, and would have different capacity to support functionality on networks outside of T-Mobile (they're all probably 100% fine enough for AT&T).

Presumably the only reason the LG is on this list is because they've abandoned the Android market. Otherwise, it does not belong in the category of free phone and will surely go out of stock VERY quickly after this deal goes live. The other freebie Samsung phones are somewhere between cruel jokes and OK as a dummy device to run your remote control app.

Good luck!

Do you know this for a fact, and if so, what's your source? If they are refurbs, they are the best that I have seen, because all 5 of mine are immaculate.

Be careful about posting info as fact if you are just guessing. I see a trend on this site of many SDers now posting opinion or what they believe to be true as actual fact, when in reality it is complete BS.

So if that is the case here, please amend your comment that this is just your opinion that these are refurbs, unless of course you have actual proof.

Just trying to prevent unnecessary drama here as well as confusion for others who actually believe half the BS that is posted on this site
Many people posted here already that they are noticing the same thing, you must be lucky if you actually received a brand new phone.

When I first bought it last time, I saw similar double stickers on Seal, why put 2 stickers for Seal only on this particular phone? I have bought so many devices from T-Mobile in last 8+ years that I have been with T-Mobile and never saw this issue with any other phone.

Again, I'm not complaining. For $36.48 that I paid for this phone it is a steal. I have no plan of flipping it and will probably use it again as trade-in for next phone.

I received and updated my LG yesterday. It took a relatively long time to complete the 3 updates but it does wind up with Android 11 when all is said and done.

I got mine today and it also came with a seal over a broken seal. But the phone is actually brand new and so are the charger and cable. They also included a sim card in the box, not sure why. But my guess on the seal is that these phones were packaged for something else originally and not intended for this promotion. They probably had to break the seal to add/remove stuff or maybe even just to check if everything that's supposed to be in the box is in there before shipping. Whatever the reason is, the phone is new and that's all that matters. People (not pointing my fingers at you) are just too quick to complain without even checking the actual condition of the phone.

i was researching this and found that the Incipio DualPro Case for LG Velvet 5G UW (Verizon Compatible Only) is one that will fit perfectly. There are reviews on the Incipio website that state people bought it for the T-Mobile variant and it was the only case they could find that fit correctly. Multiple reviews of the Velvet also state that the Verizon/T-Mobile have the same measurements.

you can find the case on ebay for <$10

the speck presidio exotech lg velvet case seems to fit as well according to reviews
Thanks!

reviews say it "works" but the camera lens is on the edge of the case. you can see the pics in the reviews area to see what i mean.
the 2 cases i mentioned were designed specifically for the US versions of the phone and have the camera centered.
So "UW" means the Verizon variant of this phone? When looking at cases on Amazon, it a lot say "Not compatible for 5G UW", but it's ok for 5G version. They all seem to be 6.8 inch screens. So does that mean we should get a 5G UW compatible case? Or are we good with any Velvet 5G case?

My Velvet box was double taped also but I opened it and everything inside looked spotless.

I suspect they open the box to put the T-Mobile SIM card inside. I got a different phone earlier this year that was sealed and it did not have a SIM card inside. I had to contact support to get one mailed out.
