Is there some video card minimum requirement to drive such a large monitor? I'd hate to get this and find out my video card can't even drive it properly....

Also, from the reviews, this looks like an older 2019/2020 monitor release?

Wow what a deal. I have the 43-in version of this and I was looking at this one over the weekend and was contemplating it. This is $420 off that's amazing

This is the older model that has been discontinued. This has had its warranty extended for another 3 years from manufacturer. Feature wise, its identical and with the updates it had for drivers the issues it had on release seem to have been remedied. Here is a reddit thread with the comparisons: https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawid...95tssnxza/

Remember kids, if it ain't the G97, it ain't shit! Just kidding, but be wary of this G95 model. I'm not sure how bad the issues are with the firmware updates that have taken place over the last year, but just something to think about. I have the G97 variant and I love it, but I technically got it with a dead pixel. At the time there were none in stock available so I didn't bother trying to replace it and it's just not noticeable anyway.

178°Viewing angle 😂. What a joke. I won't be able to even see the center of the screen past around 160°

Next gen has the same bugs. Which is part of the problem. Most have been fixed by now. However hardware related issues plagued the early G95 the most.

Hey I have the G97 and is shuts on and off if I turn on free sync. Anyway to fix it and drivers are up to date.

Depends on what you expect to do with it and if you plan to use the full 240hz. You need a gpu with display port 1.4. Some display adapters won't even support an odd resolution and max resolution is 3840x1080 (this is the result on a GT 1030) I attempted to run with a gtx 1080 but could only set the refresh rate to 120hz. As far as actual gaming, just keep in mind this just 10% shy of pixel count as a 4k monitor so assume you'll need enough GPU power to run a 4k monitor at 240hz to take advantage of full resolution AND refresh rate. You'll need a GPU that can do 4k gaming to get decent enough frame rates on modern titles to even get 140fps. I run a 3090 on this monitor and runs battlefield v at about 120 to 140 especially since dlss 1.0 isn't supported at this resolution. Cyberpunk runs at just under 90 fps with dlss and some other tweaking to the settings.

What's the difference. I heard they are they same just a newer model version number. I bought this on amazon and it hasn't shipped yet but the g97 is available now at best buy. Wondering if I should get the newer one. It's seems like no matter the monitor it's a 50/50 chance something will be screwed up on it

Sorry, I've never had that problem, but I use G-Sync with an NVidia card instead so couldn't give you an accurate statement on that front.
