Comparing the two is like apples and oranges. Both are daily trainers but the Kinvara is much firmer for your faster pace runs while the Triumph is a max cushion shoe to eat up those long slower miles. Both are great at what they excel and meant for. You can definitely pick up the pace with the Triumph but you'll be working for it and realize it's bulky and heavy for such a task. The Kinvara at slower paces doesn't absorb impact well and your foot/legs will tell you. The upper on the Kinvara is also more stripped down for speed and the Triumph plush and soft.
Thank you for the details.

Thank you. Too bad their Triumph is out of stock for my size.

I can vouch for a few generations back. Kinvara is a basic non-nonsense light shoe. It is fairly fast. It is more padded than a racing shoe, but not by much. It fits like a glove and can be used for anything from training to races. I've raced it in everything from a trail 50k down to 1 mile track races. That said, it is best for 10 mile - half marathon races and easy runs up to about half marathon. If you are a fast runner, you will find it lacking 10k an below. If you are a slow and / or heavy runner - your legs will feel beat up anything over half marathon, easy or not. Another important note is that Kivaras last about 300-350 miles due to a very light rubber protector on the outsole.

Triumph - is a -mid to -heavy weight shoe . It is heavily padded. Not Hokka padded. but about as padded as Saucony gets. It is also stiffer than Kinvara, but again - not as stiff as Hokka Clifton. It also has a fairly thick rubber protector on the outsole. For a long time, this was the only Saucony shoe with the next-gen foam similar to the one in Nike -percent series. This makes Triumph an excellent easy day / long run shoe. It lasts forever and running 20 miles in Triumph feels like running 12 miles in Kinvara. You can sort of go fast in Triumph, but you will have to work for it. On easy days, I'm usually 0.5-1 minute/mile slower in Triumph compared to Kinvaras. If anything, I would compare Triumph to Endorphins, but twice the weight and half the flex. Oh, and Triumph used to have a terrible ISO Fit laces (not sure if they still do), which are stretchy laces that are supposed to keep you super comfy. What you get though is a very loose fit. The back of the heel area wears out in 100 miles and you have to mend the hole with a moleskin tape for the next 500+ miles.

Right. And these run small and narrow.
Have you tried Gen 12? My sweet spot was Gen 8. Gen 9 was still somewhat wide, but not longer bouncy (less energy return / cushion). Get 11 was again not bouncy and narrow to a point where it gives me craps until broken in. Endorphins are narrow, but at least they have a bounce of Kinvara 8. All of them seemed to be the same length though.

I have the triumph 18 from the REI deal from October. I feel like they are firm for asphalt trail walking. my feet and legs hurt more than when I used to wear my brooks glycerin which I wore out in 4 months. If you say these are even firmer then I guess I will have to return them. For me the best shoes were the Brooks glycerins. Maybe that's just me.

Probably not the best shoes for walking. Lightweight but not durable. Very little out sole. Probably on the opposite end of Glyercin which is max cushioning.
