The site is back up after being down for maintenance but it won't let me add this item to my cart.

yeah like I said, it was not available for shipping last night. I happened to look this morning and it was so I bought one, and then about 10 mins later I saw the Slickdeals alert come across from someone else and then I knew it was just a matter of time until that's all she wrote....
Agreed. I was checking out the site after the deal went live at midnight last night. A bunch of the Ridgid 18V tools weren't in stock. I didn't expect them to replenish stock sometime in the morning.

Based on my experience with prior DTO sales, this will be in stock for shipping tomorrow (without the sale of course).

Seems like we are just a little late. Other people "magically" got it earlier in the thread.

Well I wasn't late, I was in at the start of the deal. The code wasn't working. Then when I tried again, the site was down. And now the 3rd time, it's not available to ship. This place is so hit or miss with deals.

Damn, would have bought one if shipping was still an option. Nearest store with stock is almost 200 miles away.

So I wonder if they messed up by adding these items? Or maybe they just decided they didn't want to see a gazillion of them at this price plus free shipping once they went on Slickdeals

Hey Novice - WHY? Why do the SD'ers always have to go for the MAX pain for companies, I don't get it? The OP certainly has the ability to return the tool he just bought from Home Depot back to Home Depot and then he could order this one at the lower price. Isn't that good enough? Why the need to try to keep his "new" one and then return the "factory blemished" one in the new box back to Home Depot? Maybe the customer return will just end up back at DTO anyway somehow, but I assume there is a good chance that the item could just be put back on the shelf and then some other person is paying full price for a "factory blemished" item

I'm all for a good deal but always shake my head at the need to layer in more trickery in these deals than is even warranted. Most people say the "factory blemished" look basically new anyway, and if the OP wants to get that product at the DTO price then I feel like he should get the factory blemished and roll the dice like everyone else. It still has the LSA warranty in any case.....
It won't be put back on the shelf- even new never opened items are sent back when returned.

And as predicted, it's back in stock at full retail price. It would be great if they would be more transparent. (1) We are only making available a small number of items at the sale price. (2) We will only permit free shipping for a limited number of orders. (3) We will restrict orders by having our website have major uptime issues, just as we've had identical traffic issues for past holidays.

Hopefully it will go on sale again in a bit. I'd like to return my (potentially) more expensive one from home despot.

Yeah when I first saw that it wasn't available for free shipping I wasn't surprised, as at $27.99 if they are also paying [$5-7] to ship then they are really not making much profit. So when I saw all the cheaper items pop up as available I was pleasantly surprised. I wonder if it was a mistake, or if they just shut it down once the Slickdeal orders started pouring in....

So I got mine delivered yesterday. Just opened it to check it out. Box looked like it was never opened. Tool looks brand new. Only evidence I saw were a couple fingerprints on the plastic protective cover for the digital screen....not sure if that is from the factory worker who stuck on the plastic or whether it means the tool was opened and touched at some point.

Really pleased with the tool especially for less than 30 bucks, since I am already deep in the Ridgid system. I tested it on bike and it isn't super loud. The digital readout is cool and I tested several tires and it seemed to read very similar to my Accu-Gauge needle tire gauge that I trust....within 1-ish PSI.

If it holds up, will be a great purchase as I won't need to drag out the compressor just to fill bike tires, sports balls, etc.
