I received an email from Red Robin offering the following.

Free 10" Donatos Pizza with a $10 Purchase

Use Promo Code: FREEPIZZA

Tell your server to use the "FREEPIZZA" promo code. Dine-in or To Go.

Expires: 12/8/2021

The email fine print says the following:

Discount is valid for one free 10" pizza with $10 purchase (up to a $10 value) on a dine-in, to-go or delivery order. Discount excludes alcohol, merchandise, gift cards and tax. Not valid on 3rd party delivery apps. One-time use only. No cash value. Cannot be combined with any other offer, promotion or discount. Valid only at participating locations. Promo Code: FREEPIZZA Expires 12/8/21

Note: this may be YMMV since I can't find this offer on their website. However, the promo code is obviously generic and not unique. I'm in Southern California. Not sure if this will work in other states.

Note: at an Orange County, CA, Red Robin, a cheese or pepperoni pizza cost $9.99, and their specialty pizzas (e.g.: BBQ chicken, combo, meat) are $12.99. I tried the BBQ chicken pizza. It was ok.

Haven't had Donato's pizza since I was a kid. Do they still have the ordering phones at the table?
Do they still even have tables? Haven't seen a Donato's in years, and I don't think I ever went inside one. Is this phone thing as weird as it sounds?

I felt like it wasn't real pizza. More like a cheap Totino's frozen pizza.

Some do — of the ones around me around 20% have it. It's Donato's pizza and it's quite good if you like sweet sauce. The reason some have it and others don't is that it's a fairly large financial investment for the franchisee (around $145,000).
Wow. If it takes you $145,000 to add pizza to an existing restaurant, you're not doing it right. And if you spend $145,000 just to add Donato's pizza, you're insane and must not like money, or pizza.
Not doubting or arguing with you, but friends and family have turned bare, empty rental spaces (that weren't already restaurants) into fully outfitted pizza shops for less than that.

I'm guessing it's mostly a franchise fee than the hardware cost but here's the info straight from Donatos:

Has anyone else been able to successfully do this? I might try calling before we go in to see. I have a bday burger to use anyway so maybe we'll just go and then ask. Will they ask you to show them the email offer though?

No go for a 10" Pepperoni with $12 of other stuff logged in or not, trying in-store and curbside, for a WA location. Sounds like I'm not missing much but thanks anyway!

There was a wired phone at every table that you used to call the kitchen to place your order. The server only brought the food out and didn't take your order.
