If I grab this - still on the fence - I will calculate $45 extra for the Wal Mart 2 year warranty - best on refurbs like this where only 90 days comes with it. Usually their solution to most problems is to refund purchase price back to your walmart account from my experience...

Plan also covers:

Screen failure
Battery failure
Hard Drive failure

I was just thinking that. $249 used to buy you a celeron with 2 gigs of ram, no SSD, and a crappy screen that wasn't even worth unboxing. This is a nice laptop.

Honestly this a really good value. 11th Gen i3, 1080p IPS screen are great. 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD is more than enough for most people using this for web browsing, word processing and checking emails.

I wonder also. This is a nice deal if they are actually manufactured refurbished, inspected, cleaned, etc.. On the other hand, if it is simply used, with Windows refreshed, and passed off as "refurbished" I'd pass.

Features for the price seem good.

I think currently "Gateway" laptops are actually made by EVOO.

Found this review, which is based on a slower i5 CPU. Looked up the i3 in this model and it gets around 598 on the Cinebench R15, vs 502 for the i5 in this review:

Doubt it is "Manufacturer" refurbed since there is no "Gateway" manufacturer.
It's an OEM Whitebox really.

That being said....Unlikely they are really "Used", more likely returns.
Or if there were 'issues', something such as loose ram, et...

11th Gen CPUs are not out that long to be very used.

At this price point, I don't see a reason to quibble.

This is a disposable laptop price.
Even if "New", you are not really going to get much in the way of "Support".

Laptop failures are rarely black and white. Usually you would get random reboots or freezes, and warranty will just blame it on software and user error.

Deal's probably over since several hours ago but there was a
brand new dell 15.6inch laptop with similar specs at $ 330 + 15% CB recently.

Main benefit I see here is Walmart's supposedly easy returns.

Refurb from Walmart in general are like Amazon Warehouse deal. They let the customer do the QA and pay for free return if something is off. If you live near a Walmart, just try your luck and return it if it doesn't work out.
