Extended warranties are pretty cheap these days. Even with a 5yr upsie warranty it's still way cheaper than a c1 or any other OLED.

I've had my TCL last longer than my Samsung. The hardware manufacturing standard have changed and become less of a concern over "premium" brands.
The bigger concern is company's willingness to stay up to date with software and features.

That's my take at least.

Amazon's listing shows 10% but upon checkout using Amazon card it only shows 5%. Any insight into why?

Depends on what you like. I just sent back my Hisense U8G to Amazon and picked up Sony OLED. The overall PQ of the Sony is much better out of the box.

Just set up my 55" U8G.
I have a LG OLED and I compared these two side by side, playing the same content on both.
While not as good as the OLED, I was pleasantly surprised by how good U8G is.
In many areas U8G is comparable to the OLED. Of course OLED scored better when it comes to the black level (The black levels are not too shabby on U8G).
In fact, the brightness is better on U8G.
For many, the difference in the PQ will not be worth the extra $$.
This TV for sure is a keeper.

Remember, the 65" U8G is slightly better than the 55" version as 65" has more local dimming zones

I'm a pretty avid LG and Samsung user. I got the 65" from Amazon with 10% off. So same price as this. This TV (if you get a good panel) is quite literally the best TV I've ever owned. My gaming TV is a higher end Samsung. This was just a bedroom TV. It's stunning. Fast response. Easy to set up. Looks amazing. Sound is pretty nice out of the box. Paired it with a Sonos Beam 2. Just a great TV. If you get a bad one, headaches no doubt. But for me, this thing has been amazing. Good luck to all.
