In for one. These are LiPo batteries. Only charge them before flight and store at 40-50%. Safeguard themas they can burn down your house. Get a LiPo protection bag or what i use is a metallic military ammo box and keep away from flammable objects. Enjoy.

Good call-out. I remembered the Mini 1 using Lithium Ion cells, so I had to visit Google to verify that the Mini 2 is in fact LiPo again... interesting. And the LiPo are definitely more sensitive to being stored at 0% or 100% (as earlier DJI series have taught us).
Question. So what batteries are better? These mini 2 lipo or the mini 1 li ion? I do not want to burn my house down. LOL. But what is the difference? It only adds 1 min of flight.
I am debating what's better as a starter. The mini 1 or mini 2.
I ordered a mini 1 - fly more combo for 230 from dji ebay. It comes this week. But has 30 day returns.
It does say the mini 2 has more advances. It has better controls and further range. But is it worth 200 more?
One review I saw said get the mini 2 over mini 1. But another review said if you have the mini 1 - don't upgrade to the mini 2. Instead - go for a bigger more stable drone - one you decide if you like the hobby or not.

200$ difference plus lipo battery vs li-on battery. Considering fire hazard i would def get mini 1.

Thanks. This got me worried since I ordered Mini 2 from last sell. What bag is recommended from Amazon? What do you mean by "store at 40-50%"?
Just ordered one from Costco earlier today. Much better deal.
How is Costco a way better deal? I think it is close. Costco is new but refurb is cheaper and comes with more supplies.
costco is 440 dollars for the done and just 1 Extra Battery, Mini Bag and 32GB MicroSD Card. No charging hub.
refurb is 20 dollars cheaper - includes 1 year warranty from mfg and 2 years from allstate. The l Mini Fly More Combo contains 3 intelligent flight batteries, spare propellers, and micro USB cables. You also get the 360° Propeller Guard, two-way charging hub, DJI 18W USB charger, and a handy carrying bag.

How so? The one's people are geting as refurbs are in brand new packaging and sealed. Warranties are the same and most people are going to get DJI Care to warranty their drones in the event of a crash anyways.
The big difference is the two extra batteries from the Fly More package and that's around 80-90 bucks alone.
Note that the Mini 1 and 2 do not support any of the DJI goggles. If you're wanting to use goggles, look for a mavic air or something else that supports them.

I just got the Mini 1, and I think it's perfect for dipping my toe in. It's cheaper, so I'm in less of a bind if I screw it up (or just decide I don't like the hobby), and it's good for practicing the basic techniques. I'm also just learning where I can or cannot legally fly it. There are restrictions, even on these sub-250g units - for example, I can't fly in the national park I'd love to explore, or in city-owned parks near me, or within 500 feet of public schools. Local laws vary.
So unless you need to try out something specific the 2 does, I'd recommend you get the 1 first. Then, once you've decided you like the hobby, and know what you want/need in an upgrade, go for that.
