Not a bad deal, but has been available for much less. This was $269 back in March with a 5ah battery at HD. Battery was returnable for $95 making the tool $174.

Technically it was $149 if you purchased with fan and free battery and then returned everything but the nailer. Someone figured out the multiplier changed with you combined deals.

What a great deal! I would have bought this had I not already bought a new one with battery off Ebay for $299. Someone should jump on this!

Exactly how I got my M18 18g 1year ago for $169! That price for yellow or red is amazing! I had the 15/18g DeWalts but ran into issues 18g missing counter sinks & the 15g stopping driving nails fully unless I perfectly held it square w/ good pressure. I wonder how DeWalts 16g runs? I could use a depot hack 15-16g again. I got both dewalts below 230 kitted up but the hack u speak of makes it's so much more enticing!

between this one and the $199 18 gauge one, which is better for 5.5" baseboards? They're pretty thick, 11/16".

I would say this one. 18g brads are a bit on the small side to hold big baseboards.

I got the 16ga earlier this year and I love the cordless route. Made me get a cordless framer.

Great for me as a DIYer.

Yeah I scored about 3 this way. Made for some good flips and more than paid off the one I kept. And with the $388 subtotal for getting fan, battery and nailer, I was able to submit in-store 11% rebate to get an additional $42.68 in a rebate HD card, effectively netting the nailer for $109.46 after returning battery and fan. Then after 3% cb from BofA Visa it was $104.90.

A super slick deal.

Technically, the 16 gauge, but if I was only going to buy one tool, I would not hesitate to use the 18 gauge. It is not like you are doing pull ups with baseboards. Plenty of finish carpenters use the 18 gauge as being more versatile and smaller nail holes to fill.

If I were not invested in the DeWalt battery and charger line, today would be Metabo with it's compressor action over the DeWalt flywheel. One thing Hitachi/Metabo has been well known for, is their nailers.

Been looking for a sale (with availability) on the 18 gauge tool-only brad nailer for over a year. Just order from HD for $199. I won't use it a ton, but I think I could turn around and sell and get most of my money back. At least it would be more cost effective than renting one.
