I'm generally a fan of things being broken down, but I'm not sure about this one. Some reviews say there are errors, typos, etc... Not sure how bad it really is though.

For what it's worth, my local library had some of these books. You can also request that your library gets this book or that hook, since that's usually part of the budget

Anything by Bart Ehrman is a good read when it comes to the Bible.

Cliff notes on the Bible seem like a perfect way to transmit doctrinal error and give those who skim the Bible the false sense of knowing the Bible.

People who know the bible generally become atheists. Many founding fathers and eminent scientists and philosophers, for example.

Much like we laugh at ancient Greek mythology or Roman mythology, 1000 years from now, people will laugh at ancient American mythology.

It's a science fiction/fantasy novel at best.
You're right to laugh at ancient Greek and Roman mythology. The Greeks used to have gods everywhere and were considered religious as they had altars everywhere for each god. That's how they had the pan-theon. They even went as far as to erect an altar "TO AN UNKNOWN GOD." Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles took that opportunity to talk about the one true God they totally overlooked and Who doesn't live in any temple or is made by man but rather the creator of man. I hope everyone just finds the simple joy of knowing the triune God. A lot of people throughout history died because of not revoking Its testimony. I'm probably sure they took a hard look at whether the Bible was fictional or not before dying. At least it would be fair for us to ask why would they do such a foolish thing.

I'm an atheist, but in America, people can believe whatever they want to believe, and only paying 99 Cents for this book is better than paying whatever the original price was. Though, they sell the Bible for a dollar at Dollar Tree in the book section, so if religious people really want to spend $1 on a book about the Bible, why not just go buy the Bible from Dollar Tree? Or, get one free from any hotel desk drawer. That's the slickest deal for religious people.

Yes. I think most people on Slickdeals are too practical to be religious.

The Bible has to be the most revised book in human history. For instance, there have been in the order of 200 gospels of which 4 were chosen to be the canon because they aligned with the views of the church of the day. So basically it's already a specific interpretation of history, so adding another layer of abstraction/redirection like this is just asking for trouble.

You are lying. Koran or Quran deals hardly ever showed on SD and if it did it got thumbed down. If you try to be a Christian wanna be then first try not to be a liar.
