Tempting, but Lenovo's support is abysmal to say the least.
This is a ThinkPad. It is not a consumer machine - this has good support - have you checked out the support page for these models?

Pretty good if you need a good non-gaming business/work oriented laptop

my 10 year old equivalent of this is still going strong, t420 (i5,16gb ram, ssd) Does someone want to take the time to reformat the beast for me or should I just upgrade. This should last you a very long time if cared for.

same boat t420 (refurb) with some software issues now, looking at this for $1,286 w/ 2yr premium support. Is the support add on worth it?

I bought a T14 gen1 with 10th gen i7 and 4k screen for $959+ tax and 15% from urlhasbeenblocked.
It is getting shipping in late Jan.
Would jump on this if urlhasbeenblocked still had that 15%.

Good to know. I did not know they had differing support to different lines. This is my first Lenovo purchase, I recently bought a lenovo T14 gen 1. Always been a Dell guy but Dell don't have any comparable deals.

Is this good for gaming and running multiple programs simultaneously? I need to run few Python based bots for trading. Looking for best laptop which can handle these.

damn this machine is stacked

Super Stacked. Exceptional Screen. Very durable. Easy to upgrade...And so ugly.

Why, why couldn't Lenovo move to something looking a bit nicer for this line???

There is no answer to that whether it's good for gaming without knowing what games you're planning to play. Modern AAA titles, no it won't play those at even 1080p with even mid or lower mid settings, older and less demanding games like GTA 5, DOTA etc., It will play. For programming, yes, it can.

Is Ryzen7 better than i7 11th Generation
https://www.pcworld.com/article/3...t-bad.html

Looks like if we use the laptop unplugged most of the time, its better to go with Intel. Ryzen is best with power cable plugged in

Great specs but can't find too much info on the screen for photo/video work. Seems like not quite 100% sRGB but good brightness and contrast. Anyone know more?
