Great News — your Premier Streaming Rate is Going Down! Effective June 23, 2021, the standard rate for SiriusXM Premier Streaming will decrease from $13.00 to $10.99 per month, with no changes to the content lineup.
Granted this is no discounted great price but I couldn't believe back in June I got an email from them saying the rate was going DOWN. When does anything go down? LOL Gas prices, yes, but subscriptions to any service never just automatically get reduced for doing absolutely nothing.

For me, I just prefer to be able to look up and play any song/album at any time with Apple Music or Spotify, which also have radio stations too. I'm doing a 3 mo free trial with SiriusXM now, but not worth it. I do like the comedy channels and the DJs are cool but I'd rather have choice than to be spoon fed the music.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the point of this technology these days vs. services like Spotify?

For me, it's much easier to use while driving than streaming services, because it's so well integrated into the nav system of my Mustang. I don't believe either Apple Music or Spotify give you access to live news and business channels that you get on SiriusXM.

So I have two cars I'd like to check on this deal, both over 7 years old and probably never had sirius activated, but don't have an account and never did... can't check without an account, what do I do?
If I give the radio numbers here can somebody check for me?
Thx in advance for the help!

Many of you out there didn't get to experience XM when it first came out, it was commercial free, about 40 channels and much better fidelity. Had a one year plan recently after a decade of no service and wasn't impressed enough to go for another year. With an unlimited data plan on my phone, free streaming internet audio makes more economic sense to me at least.

Good deal to increase subscribers.

In reading the thread it's interesting how we're willing to pay Spotify or YouTube or several others $10, but SXM is somehow supposed to be able to do it for $2 on a regular basis. Can we be realistic on what it costs to run and maintain a business, especially one in media?
Some of us are not paying anything either for Spotify Family. Ours get reimbursed free (along with Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ package) thru our cell phone plan with US Mobile.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this in this thread, but apparently everyone else lives/travels in highly populated areas with good cell coverage. I happen to live in a mostly rural state with piss-poor cell coverage, so satellite radio is the only way to get consistent coverage when I travel. Unlimited cell data and internet streaming services are great, but only useful if you can stay connected to the cell network when traveling.

I got three free months when I bought my car in March. Still listening for free even today.

Royalties are real.
They are definitely real, but they should he included in the quoted price, just like most other businesses include their costs in a quoted price. I love my SiriusXM - I've had it for years. But their sales and cancellation practices are less than transparent.

Really hate how deals are only ever for people who are not customers. Despite my insistence, my wife has continued to be a customer for about 10 years, now. The only deal we ever see is 1 year for about $99, which comes out to be about $120 after fees and taxes.
I always call to cancel and keep renewing for around $46/year for each vehicle.

Got a new car recently, have never had an account with Sirius but get their spam in the mail. This offer is asking for an account number, do I have to sit on this until I can get another spam message in the mail that may contain an account number?

I feel that same way about cable... Smilie
I cut my cable when I realized I was giving $125 a month to enrich people who hate me. When I cut my cable it was awesome. Newpipe and Rumble are all I need but I did get an antenna but hardly watch broadcast tv.

I remember that battle every 6 months where you upgrade upgrade upgrade then drop down to basic and start again. Good riddance.

To me it's more than just music…
Howard Stern mornings, Live TV audio, Live sports play by play with score display — niche channels (like fantasy football, doctor radio, etc) all makes it well worth it due to my long commutes to and from work.
