Royalty fee is a false advertisement scam. No other online music providers charge it. I run as fast as I can once I hear it.

Looking a little further, it appears this offer will only be extended to radios in cars that have not had a subscription for 5 years. So that means that unless your car is a 2015 model or older (considering that most cars with a sirius/xm radio also have a free subscription for a good chunk of time which would have to run out), your car radio is pretty much automatically disqualified from this promotion.

I had siriusxm for a long while, more and more I started noticing lots of commercials and then it was the "DJs" talking all the time… combine that with having to call every 5-6 months to haggle down to a reasonable price… they have lost a lot of customers.

XM has its use cases where it is good. I was driving in remote West Texas with no phone signal, no music apps, etc. XM Radio worked 100%.

This will be the last year for me… well, for my wife. She used to listen to it during her commute, but she's more and more into audiobooks now. I'll put on my fire resistant suit and call to cancel it when it's close to renewal.

I disagree, but I supposed it depends on how you listen to music. I prefer the curated channels on SiriusXM over playlists or just albums/songs to pick through.

I have an Amazon Echo in my car. I just use Spotify now. Even free TuneIn when I want to listen to MSNBC.

Every year I have to call them and tell them I want to cancel service. I have all access I guess it's Platinum now but anyway they say why are you cancelling I say cause it's way too much. Why would I pay $329 a year or something like that when I can get Amazon music for $99 a year. They always say let's see what we can do and then they give it to me for like $119 a year. I always ask you have a 3 year or 5 year deal at this rate they always say no. 4 years in a row now I have done this. SMH

Yup, same here. I set a calendar invite every year to remind myself. I only do the Music/Entertainment option, but I get it for $5 a month and have been for about 7-years now.

every year (used to be 6mos) I pay $60 for everything, including streaming, for two cars ($60/ea)- including all taxes and fees (They agree to waive them each time after putting up a mild fight).

I keep track of how long the call takes me each time as a game. My wife thinks I'm crazy. Took me 19min last time.

Nothing like listening to the terms twice and the fancy math for car 1 that gets corrected with car 2.

I'll miss our little dance some day.
