2020 LG Grams based on i7-1065G7 had 2x8gb or 2x16gb Samsung DDR4-3200 memory.
I took one out and replaced with 32gb, getting 40gb overall. Works fast with no issues.
They also had 2 SSD slots, and they took Samsung 2TB 980 pro and 2tb 870 evo no issues.
Still unbelievably light and fits all hotel deposit safe boxes (sometimes you need to enter diagonally though but it fits)
Productivity monster if you need to see a lot of visuals on the screen.
Sound is bad, but I am either on headphones, or use a small portable sound bar.
No other issues whatsoever. Never crashed on me in a year, and I am guilty of keeping 300+ browser windows open.
Even on 2020 the battery easily runs me through a 10 hour work day on the go non stop with heavy use.
2021 LG Grams i7-1165G7 and like all use low voltage soldered LPDDRX-4267 which is slower in comparison and not upgradeable. They also lost on screen brightness a bit.
In exchange, they got a little faster CPU and graphics, PCI4 vs PCI3 and one extra thunderbolt, losing one USB-A
Overall, 10th gen may provide a better value for someone who wants to maximize memory and likes brighter screen. Both are critical to me, so I am not upgrading until at least Adler Lake.
Memory Type LP DDR4
So does it means it is soldered?

So you sacrifice dual channel, for 8GB more (useless) Ram? Doesnt sound good to me.

And dual channel mostly helps with Ryzen and GPU. For Intel non gaming machine (like LG Gram) the performance difference between dual and singe is not dramatic, especially when the fist 16GB memory is still dual channel.
So, the statement that 16GB dual channel is better than 16GB dual channel+ 24GB single channel (8+32 sticks) for most users does not make sense.
