Less than 1$/lbs is a very good deal for this type of dumbbell. For reference - amazon basics run ~$1.50 - $1.70/lbs depending on the size
The smell goes away after a couple of weeks.
Just as an reminder, these rubber dumbbells are smelly. That was my main reason I swapped mines to steel(gray) ones. I just could not stand those smell during workout.

a quick glance at the walmart reviews and most 5 stars seem to be promotional reviews so that review score of 4.6 is probably bogus. However it is a dumbbell so I'll take my chances. They'll probably smell but the rubber ones usually do wherever they come from.

I got the 90lbs powerblock deal, but use 10 and 15 lbs often for light/accessory stuff.. worth getting these or just deal with the pb switching?
how much you want to spend?
how much room you have for all your hardware?
how frequently you switch weights between sets?
do you plan to lift more in the future?
can you work with large (volume) size dumbbells?

as you can see everyone will have different answer for above. so asking everyone to give you an answer without providing your criteria is like asking: what is the best car for me?

I bought some for at a local Walmart. Had to return them. I tried washing one with dish soap and water and submerged it covered with cat litter in an enclosed container for a few weeks and the smell still there.

Maybe the dumbbells know I'm not using them immediately and the smell stay so they can still have that "new dumbbell" smell.

We're really here complaining about smell I mean come on.. it's a rubber dumbbell.
Maybe some slick dealers should get together and invent scented dumbbells - I'm sure nacho cheese would be a big hit.

I had the Bowflex SelecTech 552 and ultimately sold them. The weight selection was a bit annoying but fine, however the extra bulk / shape of the weights were awkward. For me. Even curls felt like they wouldn't be held as close to my body as normal dumbbells. Even more so with various tricep exercises when the weight moved across / behind the body. Only exercise that felt largely unaffected were dumbbell bench presses--other than getting into position and out being more tedious due to the adjustment hardware and trying to not be rough with the equipment since it's more fragile than plain, dumb weight. Maybe consider this with the powerblocks if you have a clear idea of what exercises you want to do. I think they stick out an extra inch or so when compared with the equivalent normal weight.

I have the Powerblocks as well, 90's. Honestly, I prefer single Dumbells. I find myself using them more in my basement instead of the Powerblocks

Wow, excellent deal. I've been looking around at 30 lbs for a few months now and really the best I ever saw was $37. Buying now, thanks OP
Same, bought a pair of 30s. What's up with Walmarts scheduled pick up timing?
Also, I have Walmart + and it gave me free shipping. It suggested a $7 tip fee. Canceled the order since it's probably a door dash worker delivering instead of FedEx/ups

My thoughts exactly.

I had the select techs. Sold during the pandemic and bought Powerblock 90s

Prefer single Dumbells. Slowly building my Dumbell set

I am as well. Have the Powerblocks through 70 lbs. They work well for most things.

Have dumbbells 5-25 and just bought 30, 35, 40 here.

Anyone have a line on a decent 5 - 50 rack?

Well, just letting the community know of what one has done to try to remove the smell and still failed. We don't need to invent scented dumbbells, these are actually scented dumbbells. Just saying, not everyone have a dedicated room to store their rubber dumbbells where they don spend most of their time in the same room. 🤷🏻 ♂️

Scented: A recycled rubber dumbbell smells like recycled rubber.

Not sure how the QA are on these but I know the Amazon Basic ones were off by a couple lbs for the 45lbs I ordered recently. Still trying to exchange for something closer to 45lbs. Weigh your weights.
Dip them in a bucket of dish soap and wash and let them dry outside completely. I have the CAP version for most of these from a long time ago and there's no smell and still holding up.
