the issue is that the boot is very inflexible, so you need to use your thumbnail to directly push down the plastic clip inside the boot, rather than pushing on the boot itself.
Got it for $8.79.
Edit
Tested and works at the 1 gb max speed of my wired network. The connector is very secure and would only use it for a permanent connection I had to use a flat spoon handle, which works very well, to disconnect the cable.

works fine.
$11 cheapest 75ft cat6 i could find lately
My question is why not just cut off the plastic clip to avoid this issue? In the past I have accidentally broken those clip before and the cable works fine and it hasn't fall off the plug. It is still been used.
