Ok. Their last year's model with least Ram and slowest CPU and Type-c ports only is $1250 now. Wow, in for a hundred!.. Who buys these?

How do you know this? I need to get one for my daughter and I missed out on the $1099 deal at Costco.... was that one last year's model as well? Is it better to just buy at Apple? Do you think there may be another deal? kicking myself! for not jumping on it on BF!

What does your daughter plan on doing with it? If she's not doing a lot of video rendering or whatnot, then the cheaper MacBook Air will perform about the same for less.

The "slowest CPU" is as fast as the top of the line from Intel/AMD mobile parts still. The new MacBook Pro 14 starts at $2000, 50% more.

I'm waiting on a better deal too. Ready to tell in the pro line: of it only had USB type-c ports, it's old news :-) at this point if you're not looking to spend big bucks, a much better value would be their 2020 macbook air, as it's much cheaper with the same computing power. Costco is fine, doesn't matter which repeatable retailer you buy it from, if it's new. Refurbished I recommend only from Apple, as only apple refurbished is truly refurbished with full 1 year warranty. New pros are x2 $$$$ and they finally brought back other ports, including magnetic power connector
