4 foot ladders are probably the best ladders. Tall enough to reach the ceiling, small enough to carry up and down the stairs without worrying about hitting drywall. And the perfect size to throw in your back seat if you need to. Most of the ladders on our jobsites are 4 footers.

The "flat top" is for death drops.

Those flat tops are the best for standing on, I hate ladders that aren't flat on the top.

.
Picked up two of these a few years ago for $20 each from Lowes, so $25 today is still a good deal for a quality Werner ladder. They are stiff to open when new, but definitely sturdy enough for a Type 2. Sometimes, all you need is a 4ft ladder and easier than dragging out a taller one; especially through the house.

Picked up 2 of these last week. I didn't realize they are lacking the center hole for holding a hammer and the 2 bigger holes that it does have are too small to fit my hammer. Great ladder for the price, but if you're going to be using it every day like I do I'd recommend paying a little more for the better top step.

Is it feasible to cut a hole or enlarge one of the existing holes?

Anyone know of any good deals on a 5 or 6 foot fiberglass ladder? Five foot three doesn't have much of a reach! 😂

I would think a holesaw would remedy your dilemma

I'm 5' 5 and barely used my 4 ft ladder so I upgraded to the 6ft fiberglass for $39 on clearance at Lowe's two weeks ago. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Werner-6...5005479565

This 6' Type 1 [lowes.com] (250lb) fiberglass from Lowes for $39 (Save $50.36) should be fine. Sale ends Jan 31.

When you get into the 1A and heavier, the ladders also get heavier.

Edit... oops, lorirn just posted same, but surprised someone has not already posted this as a deal, or I missed it.
