You must not spend much time on the coast.

Which side (east or west)? Or both?

I have these, the side rubber pieces will fall apart but Costa is good about replacing them. The glass has good visibility and polarization.

Sold and shipped by "shadesdaddy", as a third party amazon seller. This is absolutely a recipe for (at best) fakes.

Costa was a Florida-based and -manufactured company until it was bought by Essilor (a French Company), which then merged with Luxottica, the global sunglasses conglomerate making almost every brand you can think of (in China). In 2020, Costa closed their Florida operations, laying off 295 of its 350 employees. The great customer service of a small operation in our backyard is now a thing of the past. It will likely continue to be a mid-to-high range glasses line along the same lines as the (also Luxottica-owned) Ray-Ban, Oakley, Native, etc. It's funny to me when people are like "I prefer _____ sunglasses" when it's literally all the same company. Anyway, I used to be a huge Costa fan; American-made brands are getting few and far between. American Optical is one that I've bought from and liked.

Yep.
If I remember correctly, Maui Jim are still separate and one of the few not owned by luxottica?

Yes they are independent; as you can tell by the name, Maui Jim's is headquartered in tropical Peoria, Illinois, lol. Their lenses and frames are made in Japan or Italy, interestingly. I can live with that.
Here is a website [usalovelist.com] I found that looks like it has a good list of sunglasses that are actually made in the US for those of us who find that important.
