I just bought one of the refurbed 11th gen i5 Gateways and actually quite like it. The build quality is much better than i thought it would be and the display is fine. It's actually a huge step up for me because I had been using $100 crappy chromebooks which were reliable but really short on power. And display quality. And speed. And flexibility. These PCs can address all of these issues for undemanding users, if they can last.

The story on these seems to be that they have good specs for the money, but you are possibly rolling the dice on reliability. Hard to say if you'll get lucky or not, but it could be worth a shot...these seem to have a pretty lax return policy, so it might be worth a shot.

The gateway arrived today and it didn't even boot after the 4th start up within 10 minutes. The $269 HP at target probably a safer bet.
