After going down the rabbit hole of reading and watching review after review, I settled on this mattress. I really had my eye on the Cocoon Chill Hybrid (w/ Extra Chill), but that one was going for $1,499 for the King. That's after 35% off and Sealy throwing in some free pillows and sheets (which frankly I don't need).

I was sold on the fact that it's Sealy and I'm curious to try the hybrid model to see if it can help w/ my (minor) back pains. Plus it's sold through Costco so I figure returns would be more seamless should it come to that.

I think many of you are going to be disappointed if you are comparing it to something higher priced. It is a bed in the box with springs. Do not expect a "jewel" of a mattress. It will serve you well if this is for a college dorm, a secondary room, or a kid's first bed. I recently bought a higher-priced Ghosbed Hybrid Flex and after 4 nights of sleep, it is going back. There is no support at all and in my opinion, it is so cheaply made that you are better off buying a cheap old fashion mattress. If you need to buy a bed in the box or a budget mattress, make sure it is a foam bed. The only issue is that some might sleep a little hot such as the Casper.

It says in the description down below. It's a plush.

Will do. I think it arrives on the 10th.

I'm a fan of memory foam mattresses in general and am coming from a tuft and needle (all foam, not hybrid). I've had several tuft and needle mattresses before but my latest one felt off vs the previous ones. The edge support is weak and the overall shape got rounded (not boxy like my other mattresses).

What did you end up getting? For me I was also considering the dream cloud, but it was a bit pricey.

So here is my experience so far with Costco and their beds. My initial purchase was the in-store Casper. It is a foam mattress and it seemed as it was well made. The issue that both my wife and I had was that the mattress slept so hot that it felt like a sauna in the middle of the night. The other issue with the Casper is that the middle of the mattress has some sort of support that raises the middle part of your body while the upper part of the bed sinks. If you are a side sleeper, your lower back will hurt because is it pushes up against your body.

I ended up returning the mattress and I exchanged it with the instore Novaform The mattress is firmer and it hurt my shoulder (side sleeper). It does sleep cooler than the Casper. When I added a nice topper, it took care of the shoulder but the mattress by itself is so tall (14 inches) that a topper just made it so tall and impossible to keep the sheets on the bed. I returned it and I ended up ordering the more expensive Ghostbed Flex Hybrid 13.

As soon as I set it up, I realized how cheaply this mattress is. You can completely feel the springs on the side of the bed. There is zero support. The mattress did not expand
completely and when you lay on it, you can feel the springs. Horrible!. When you read the reviews outside of the Costco portal, I think they are all fake. They have to be.

Also, if you have to buy any mattress, whether is this one or any other, Costco's return policy is outstanding.

So to answer your question, I think that I am done with these bed in-the-box beds due to the fact that they can not be tried in a store. Having said that, the best bed I had and kept was one that I purchased on Amazon by a company called Classic Beds. I bought it for $300 and it was really a good find.

When I was in my 20's I could practically sleep on anything, and at the time, these foam mattresses were all very similar to me. I couldn't tell the difference between sleeping hot, or edge support, or side sleeping (although I mostly sleep on my back). But I did grow to like foam mattresses over traditional spring.

Now that I'm in my 40's, I've become more sensitive to these things and definitely agree that going into a store and trying out the mattress is the best option. And yet, all of these mattress in a box options have no where to try them. While many do offer X nights trial, I'm wary of the actually return process.

It was difficult going through all of the reviews and videos for these mattresses since they're all "paid" sponsors essentially. Plus everyone's needs and sleeping habits are different.

I hoping my wife and I will like the Cocoon hybrid enough to keep it for 7-10 years. Appreciate your reply!

Yes, I remember the days of sleepovers and did not even think twice about a mattress. Unfortunately, those days are gone and the mattress has probably become the most important piece of furniture. If I can just get a 6 to 7 hour sleep, I would be thrilled. One place where you can try some of these foam mattresses is Macys and some Rooms to Go. They do carry many of the name brands. All these reviews on You tube are all sponsored and made by people in their 20's. Keep in mind, Costco carries their made for Costco mattresses at a discount. The Casper sold at Macy's or directly through the manufacturer is not the same Casper being sold at Costco. The reviews on this Cocoon do not look very promising, but then again what do I know. It is all personal. Again, give it a shot a report back. If anything, Costco will stand behind it. Good luck.

Plush. Look at specifications

I will say "plush" doesn't always=soft. I've tried many plush mattresses that were not very soft.
