This is a game that doesn't require playing the first Season, but I would recommend it. I purchased this in the past and while we did not enjoy it as much as Season 1, we had fun with it. The game gives you the freedom to explore, but seems to punish you for not doing things in a prescribed order, and there aren't a lot of clues to what that order is or you have to be lucky to find the clues in the right order. We also were a bit turned off by the rules for the last month.
However, we did find the story interesting. Ultimately, we had fun and the new mechanics still kept the gameplay fresh. On the other hand, I'd replay another campaign of Season 1, but not of this. In either case, I wouldn't buy another copy to do so.

Also it takes place in a dystopian world so not as easy to connect with as season 1, but still fun.
