Thats obnoxious.
Does this look like a portable toilet to anyone else? Everytime I see that thumbnail in my feed it looks like a camping toilet!

How do these compare to Rtic and Yeti?
The venture coolers from otterbox beat both yeti and RTIC

That's fair, the form factor is not for everyone, but it allows them to make some pretty cool add on features that some people would find useful. I actually think the solid handles make it easier to carry, but that's a personal preference thing as well. I also only paid $175 for my Venture 45 which is well below what most of the other top brands normally go for.

As for the Trooper 30, from my research the only thing that's really going to out perform it is probably the Engle HD. For me the form factor of the Trooper 30 won me over. The latching system vs waterproof zippers is so much easier to use in my opinion.

That's a nearly unbeatable price on the Venture; nice find. I haven't really fully looked into soft sided coolers very much yet, but it sounds like you have. I take it from your comment that waterproof zippers are pretty hard to come by? To me that would be a pretty important feature.

Thats a lot of money for a big lunch kit lol.

Dimensions: 21.00" L x 17.00" W x 11.00" D for the 30Q

Which I would think is the outside measurement so inside has to be pretty small after insulation and having to be able to close it...

But i guess if you can afford it to keep your 6 pack cold for 3 days its cool.

I ordered 2 otterbox venture coolers from this place last year (25qt and 45qt with accessory kit), they were "refurbished" whatever that means for a cooler. I expected something beat but but they both looked brand new, the 45qt even came in the original box and everything. Was very happy with what I got and the coolers are ridiculous with holding ice/keeping stuff cold compared to an old Coleman I used to use. I use the 25qt on the boat for day trips and I can just use 2 ice packs and it keeps everything just as cold all day, ice packs will stay frozen for days afterwards. If you watch YouTube tests the OtterBox coolers beat yeti for ice retention. Several videos I watched had 10+ brands all competing and OtterBox was the top winner.
I wish i pulled the trigger on those last year... I have a cheapo Chinese knock off i go for free from a supply company i did business with and its held up for a few years but the inner liner is prob going to crack any day now lol.

Well their are plenty of companies that advertise their zippered soft sided coolers as waterproof, but very few truly are. The biggest problem I have with the waterproof zippers is that most of them have so much sealant around the zipper that the zipper becomes very hard to operate. Some even come with lubes to help with this, but who wants to constantly lube up a zipper just to be able to open it. I love the latching system on top of the Trooper 30. It's very easy to open/close and the design gives you a large wide opening making it much easier to add your ice, drinks or whatever else. One of the first things I did with mine was make sure it was water tight and it is.

I have this cooler, which I bought from A4C for $90. It holds ice extremely well. Better than I need. My favorite aspect is no zipper. The latch really makes things water tight. So nice.
The latch is also the weak link. Reviews say it is prone to breaking. Even though the cooler has a lifetime warranty, that's a pain. I can attest to the latch being fairly thin. You really need to make sure you line things up correctly before you shut it. If you do that, you should be good to go.
The cooler is semi rigid. That and the odd shape make it a bit tough to get the most out of the capacity.
Overall I really like it, especially at this price point.
Pros
- lifetime warranty
- no zipper
- holds ice really well
- convenient shoulder strap

Cons
- potentially weak latch
- odd shape
- no handle on top
The Latch is the weakest part. My 20qt broke after the 4th or 5th time because someone else tried to Latch it not knowing how susceptible it is to breaking. I bought mine from A4C just about a year ago.

It definitely holds ice for at least 72hrs.

If you buy one, seriously consider putting some masking tape nearby the Latch with a written message telling people to not force the Latch or it'll break.

And a guy sell's a latch replacement on Etsy. The latch is supposed to be a lot stronger. They are susceptible to heat, and will flex and break. From what I heard, they will break for sure over time. Definitely a defect, widespread problem... that's why these can be found on Ebay for a reduced price without latch.

I ended getting a half price Yeti Hopper 18, at 150$. What made me change my mind on this deal was not just the latch, replacement 15$ on Etsy, and the time to replace latch, but also the fact these do show wear over time. They show a lot of wear particularly on the top (30 qt version). I've had a Yeti M30 for 5 years, moderately used, no wear, looks brand new. So I decided to just stick with Yeti. I love the durability of Yeti products. Yes, they are expensive, but if you can get them on sale - they last for a very long time and hold up perfectly. At least that is my experience. Happy Deal Hunting!

I am in the market to buy one similarly. The old igloo cooler broke.

So, I have been looking at the Yeti as they are known to be top of the line with top of the line price point.

Can anyone share some experience with this brand and possibly compare with the yeti? I am open for sacrificing performance (up to a point) to save a significant cost. The yeti roadie 24 is $200.

Thanks in advance, you cooler experts 😬

Also, is a4c a legit site? Just asking.
Try Outlastlife.com, they have really good quality coolers like the Yeti except less expensive. I bought one of the 21 quart and have had it for 2 years now and it's still working fine.

I would have assumed the latch would be covered under warranty. Is that not the case?

These coolers are trash. Had to exchange two of them after one use. The latch to close the lid is very low quality and breaks after low use

Assuming you are meaning the 20Q and not the 30Q?

There's lots of complaints here about the latch, but I haven't had a single issue with the latch on the 30Q. I can only guess all the complaints are on the 20Q latch, which is in fact troublesome, yet covered under warranty as another member said early on in this thread.

Yes it's the 20Q latch that is poorly designed. Yes it's covered by warranty but I bought a refurb one from A4C so I'm not sure mine is covered or not. I'll have to check. Even if it's covered by warranty, it's still an annoying process to make the claim. I might buy the etsy 3rd party replacement so I won't have to deal with it again.
