What's with these OEM making these oddly config N5030 laptop. I seen some with FHD IPS but with 4 GB ram. This on the other hand has enough ram/storage but crap screen
N5030 is a solid cpu for browsing laptop.

Don't forget...S-Mode can be deactivated with one step. Makes it much more functional.

This laptop will be snappy for general browsing, email, homework, powerpoint presentations and low intensity games (e.g. Sims 4 and below).

The screen is 720p (a little nicer looking than a DVD's resolution) so it's fine for a YouTube video but if you do a movie night you may wish to use the HDMI port to connect to a high resolution T.V.

LOL wow, 720p TN display, other then that rest of the spec looks not bad, i wished more laptops came with top mounted speakers like this, instead of the muffle prone bottom edge mounts.

This is a pentium processor, it is the lowest end windows computer they make. No way it is worth $269.

Roughly the same performance as a intel 5500u from 7 years ago?
It's a Chromebook running Windows.
If you only need this level of performance you can probably get a better laptop on the used market.

I got this same spec laptop with 14" screen but 4gb ram and 128gb hd last month from target for $179. I'll upgrade to 12gb ram for $20 but probably wouldn't spend more

Given the closeness in price to this deal, if you can locate the other Target offer consider grabbing that right away as an alternative to this computer. You will want to put a RAM upgrade on the Christmas/birthday list for that other deal, but you're also making a better general investment of $270. The trade you're making is a better CPU and 1080p screen, at the cost of less RAM (which can be upgraded) and a smaller SSD storage drive (which a budget/productivity user may never notice, but which can also be upgraded later if needed!).

Good luck!
Jon
