For those who are hesitant because of the complexity, the complexity is mostly on you who have to read through the instruction and figure out what to do. For the other people who are participating, it is not too bad as long as you know the game and are able to explain it to them. I play this with my children, and they enjoy it. I on the other hand had to spend a couple of hours on the manual and set up. If you can handle this, then the game is pretty much like a video game for the other people.

No brainer this price. It's easier to get into than regular gloomhaven, and easier to setup. Very fun!

Yeah, it's tough for me to get people interested in easy games, let alone complicated ones. You probably need Hardcore gamers for something like this.

We have two copies of it in our board game group, and has only made it to the table twice.

If you really enjoy co-op, and are open to heavier games, then this may be a good game for your group.

If you play mostly competitive games, or mostly play lighter games, then probably not a good fit for your group, even though it's a great game and highly rated on BGG.

Can you suggest few like the ticket to ride, clue, code names etc?

This was what we did. My friend who has this game explained it to us and then we watched YouTube for each of the first 3 scenarios. We have played 9 scenarios with Jaws of the Lion, and then we moved to the big box game. For the first scenario in the big box game, it took was about 6 hours to finish the first scenario. This included the setup and picking characters. It really helps to have a dedicated DM though.

I've taught three people how to play this game (one of them who proudly claims they "can't do complicated games") and they all ended up loving it. Because of the elegant design and immediate feeling it provides of "wow, I did something really cool" every turn, it's actually surprisingly easy for casual players to get into.

Great for solo play as well. Gloomhaven is a no brainer, and this game is even easier to set up.

My family loves Century: Golem and recently Quacks. Diceforge is also a lot of fun. Those aren't light games, per se, but moderate strategy with some luck. Great for 8-9yo and up.

5 videos!!! I remember watching videos for Castles of Burgundy and unfortunately it took me a while to find one that actually explained how to play the game, watching people play a game i did not understand where they did not explain was not helpful.
