Beats 16-pack price per battery (1.39 vs 1.44).

24-pack is 1.25/battery, but maybe you don't need two dozen.

The reviews are scary...I wouldn't risk it in any expensive electronics.

I've had a set of these, an 8 pack as well, I've been using for years now without issue. Although the reviews are still concerning, however worth noting the first reviewer appears to have mixed rechargeable (green top) with non-rechargeable (orange top) batteries, generally not a good idea unless it's temporary and you're in a pinch.

My recommendation: to use these in temporary short-term use electronics (e.g. holiday decorations). remotes and other low-value applications if you're concerned about quality, but tempted for the value, and use Eneloop/Fujitus in anything important or expensive.

has anyone had any issues with S&S suddenly showing up with discounts removed when amazon sends their "review your subscription" email?
If so, did they charge the current price on the first S&S or did they give the discount / coupon / etc. as per original invoice?

Received item list for S&S and every item is about 20-40% higher than the invoice (e.g. several items that are around $80 now have a discount / coupon in the invoice, bringing them down to around $60-$65). In the email, the price quoted is $80+.

If amazon does not honor the coupons anymore, what use is it to set up S&S w/ coupons? And that means, if that's the case, slickdeals will lose a lot of business.

Bought several editions of these in both AA and AAA sizes. They suck. Spend the extra few dollars on Eneloops and call it a day. I finally threw the last of my Basics out the other day and never again.

Not sure why anyone with a Costco or Ikea nearby would spend money on these cheap chinese batteries! Costco has has a kit with 6 AAs and 4 AAAs plus a charger for $13 right now, and Ikea has their nice-priced Ladda cells -- both are quality Japanese cells made at the Fujitsu factory that also makes Eneloops.

Is that in store? Showing $30 on the Costco app for me.

Yes the Energizer pack with 6 AA + 4 AAA + fast charger is $13 in Costco stores. Tons of inventory at the store closest to me.

Yeah, I also like Laddas. I picked up some 2450s the last time I went (3 hour drive). But we use a lot of batteries. And for some things, like holiday displays at cheap toys, I'm willing to grapple with some perception of inferior performance at a ~35% cost savings.

Well the current Costco deal is only $1.30 battery -- and that's if the value the charger at $0. If you say the charger is worth just $3, then it's $1/battery for those Energizers! Hence the statement I made above...

Why just three dollars? Why not 10 dollars?

I just was being overly conservative on it's valye -- and even then these Energizer's from Costco are way cheaper than the sub-par chinese batteries posted in this "deal". IIRC, Ikea has chargers for $6 -- so if one values the Energizer charger the same then that makes it $0.70/battery for those Energizer's from Costco. So why spend almost double for these Amazon ones? Heck, spending just 79 cents more to get 8 Ladda AAs from Ikea is a far better deal than these Amazon Basics too.

Completely agree on getting LADDAs. Made in Japan. These amazons can be made anywhere but Japan these days.

No wonder they have 4.5 out of 5 rating.
