I have this tablet, and if you've never used a tablet for drawing/retouching, it's a game changer. I compared a Wacom Tablet to painting with a paint brush while a mouse is more like trying to paint with a rock. It's night and day. That being said, there is a pretty big learning curve with these, mostly just reteaching yourself and your arm/hand how to interact with the pointer on screen. Took me roughly two weeks before I was fully comfortable, and in the beginning I was so tempted to not follow through. But it's worth it.

As far as the nibs, different people have different experiences, but my general experience is that I can get a good 4-6 months out of a nib, and then I need to switch it out. But you can get 10 nibs for less than $30... so it's not a huge extra expense.

I wonder if you can redeem it if you're already a Adobe member. Seems like you could probably cancel and then redeem

If I don't need Adobe creative cloud, how difficult is it to resell that part? I see listings on ebay lowest being around 90. Retail looks to be about 120.

This might be the same model here on Amazon, if anyone wanted to read some reviews...

YMMV, but if you have an Amex card, remember to check Amex Offers for $25 credit on a $250 purchase at B&H.

Interesting, didn't even know something like this existed. It's surprising how you can just discover something. Reading reviews though apparently they made this bad by changing texture so that the nibs purposely degrade and very quickly at that. If you're in the market for something like this, I'd pass on this specific product.

I love painting sketching and drawing but I've always had a terrible experience with these types of table top drawing tablets.

Does anyone have any experience with extending a standard Adobe CC plan with a different subscription card like what's included here?

Their site mentions this, but may be different in practice?

Make sure that the prepaid card you purchase is for the correct subscription and region. For example, you cannot extend a Single App membership with a Creative Cloud prepaid card. Similarly, you can use a Student-Teacher prepaid card only to extend a Student-Teacher membership.

I have this tablet, maybe 3-4 years when it also was $279, and boom, they jumped the price $100 up. It is fantastic if you draw hand to eye as I do, and I use a 4:4:4 to hdmi 2.0 on my hisense 50". Colors could be better, but that's the great part of a tablet without a display, it hooks up to any source, right? Also, the drawing feel, response, etc is awesome. You might want to shy away from the bluetooth connection, it's a bit stuttering, but maybe with a newer bt chipset it will be better. Constant firmware and software updates over the years, and they were all good, making things fix/work in win10 etc. I can even now remote control through teamviewer and use pressure sensitivity if I am remote drawing, showing, fixing something digital. It is certainly a good price for wacom. Honestly the $60-70 tablet I got my friend a state away so I can use it when I visit is nearly as good, but there's no eraser on the other side of the pen. Otherwise, pretty close, and both have 8192 "pressure levels" which many apps only have 1024, etc, ps have 8192 but you really need to just pay attention to what you're doing. Also for better drawing and bugs in the os to photoshop etc, there is lazy nuemi pro, which helps with curves, line work, etc, check it out to compliment any tablet.

If the kiddo just wants to jump in and start drawing stuff, yes this is too complicated because of Photoshop and the hand eye coordination learning curve

One of the best options for drawing/illustration in a tablet format is an iPad with an Apple Pencil, running the app Procreate. It is an app designed for sketching, painting, illustrating. Even professionals use Procreate and have done amazing stuff with it.

It also feels more natural to draw on a screen like a piece of paper, versus this tablet which takes some time to adapt to because your hand is drawing on the tablet while your eyes are staring at the monitor.

Photoshop can do more than Procreate can, but the learning curve is so steep is not worth it—in my experience Photoshop is too complicated for designers even in their 20s and 30s.
